It's always surprising when a college football coach doesn't come across that way, like Heupel.

You don't tend to reach prominent positions in zero-sum, hyper-competitive environments like that by being modest, understated, or mild-mannered.

Watched most of it today. If you want to see Tennessee, fast forward to the 7th episode. Only real mention in the first 6 was the Fla game from a Fla perspective & Ark loss from an Ark perspective.

Heupel came off just like he really is. No “F” bombs (Vandy coach can’t complete a sentence w!o one) & pretty straight shooter. Bru was the Tennessee player focused.

Alabama didn’t participate so their only mention was losing to Vandy, LOL. A lot of LSU, Scarolina & Florida.

Heupel has a clear facade of coach speak when he is in public with a mic in his face.

Absolutely different sideline persona.

I’m pretty sure he dropped one F bomb in the locker room. Ole Bobby Hill can have a potty mouth at times.

I have watched through episode five now. I have to say... Beamer didn't come off that way. I still don't like him but he didn't come off arrogant like BK did.

I don't think that Heupel is super arrogant though. Definitely not publicly. That's what I meant was in contrast to a lot of coaches.

Have you ever watched a Kirby Smart press conference? I don't think I've ever heard him straight up brag about himself, but it is more the body language/demeanor. He does the whole thing with a "y'all are so lucky I am gracing you with my presence" demeanor. Mark Stoops, Brian Kelly, and others kind of do the same thing.
