I see Pitt is playing at the same time as Vols tommorrow night. Coincidence?

Guy on XM was just talking Pitt up big time. The closer we get to the season, the more positive stuff is being said about Pitt.

I wish their game was Saturday so I could breakdown their film (IYKYK) and tell you guys what was going to happen . I’ll probably set up a command center to watch our game and have the Pitt/WVU game and the Purdue vs Penn State game on at the same time.

The guy on Sirius this morning, Matt Barrie was sky high on Pitt. That's a big game they are opening with, that Pitt-West Virginia "Backyard Brawl".

It's my understanding, from listening and reading from various pundits over the summer, that Pitt's d-line is supposed to be one of the better units in college football this season.

That could be a really good game to watch , I hate that they don’t play earlier .

I'm really debating which to watch, UT or the Pitt-WVA game. I will watch one live and the other recorded but UT will kill Ball St so why not watch a more competitive and interesting game? Can see UT slaughter Ball Friday morning or late Thursday night... FF through dead periods.. I enjoy competitive games much more than blowouts.

I hear ya, but it's just not the same when you don't watch it live. Plus, it's the first game of the season. That's magical to me and long awaited after the eternal off season. There's no way I would miss that. Pitt/WVA will be a recording for me.

Seriously? We waited all year too see the VOLS, and consider watching another game???? Not now, not ever. "There is magic in those Orange Jerseys" Johnny Majors. Geeze. You must not be dyed in the wool.

So, what's the expectations for West Virginia this year? Are they supposed to be a good team or just mediocre? I don't think they have been very good since Holgerson? went to Houston?

No way no how would I miss ANY Vol game to watch another team regardless if it is a blowout or not. I am surprised a Vol historian/fanatic like you would even consider it

I’m pretty sure it would be viewed as an advantage if Pitt got 2 less days after playing a harder game 1 opponent. So it’s probably no coincidence.
