Pay out the a$$ for a NFL DC, move Sal to LB coach and save the buyout cash. IMO its it would get us back to winning ballgames without risking enormous amounts of cash that we can't afford right now. I just don't trust Hart with this huge of hire.

While I think it could work, I doubt Hart has Petrino even on his list. I wish he did. Petrino is one I could see Chavis coming back to UT to coach with having coached against him in the SECW. Chavis knows Petrino could win here. Chaney would be fine staying as OC with Petrino working with him on the offense. It would save alot of money as Petrino would be one the best value hires out there IMO.

That's a good idea with Chavis. I'd take that.

I would have Petrino in my top 4-5. For some reason I have a feeling Gundy may be our guy. If Hart is willing to put the money people were talking about on the table, I think MG is our next coach. I think 4.75 gets it done with 4 million for the staff.

1). He already has a thread, post in there.

2). He is a scumbag that left Louisville, Atlanta, and Arkansas all in ****ty situations. Didn't even have the guts to tell his Falcons team he was leaving. Gutless coward - no thanks.

Just how much notice does a team give a HC before they can his as*? It goes both ways IMO. If you can be fired for anything at anytime, you as a coach can leave at anytime for anything. That is what buyouts are for.

I'd love to see what Petrino could do with Bray. Could you imagine the UT records he would set by staying next year.

I like the idea but he would have about 2.3% of support from the fan base...fwiw, I think he is a phenomenal coach. Terrible recruiter but finds a way to win

The guy is a tool who would either leave or get himself canned in 3 or 4 years, causing all of you to start talking out of your rear ends again.

Look, we all sat around and made excuses for a douche in 2009. If you want to go down that road again, have fun. I learned my lesson in January of 2010.

I agree, so why don't we get Petrino and win for 3-4 years? I think he would stay for awhile, but if we had success over the next few years, why wouldn't we take him?
