The show dogs didn't do very well so now we want to see the pups. Open it up and let them play. We want to see some rookies becoming STARS before our eyes. If they are hungry and barking put them in the game and lets see if they got any bite in them. We want to see those pups do some twrils, flips and jump through some hoops. Let them out of the pen and out on the field and Go Vols

Some people feel Pruitt should let the freshman play this year and see what they got. See if they are any better than some of the starters...

And while we are at it. That awesome 3-4 or isn't going to work is it. With this group a 6-4-4 might not work either with what I saw saturday.
Everybody could see how slow the D was. Lets not kid ourselves. It is what it is and we all saw it. So go ahead and if the freshman he signed is as good or could be coached up to be better than what was on the field then let them play. Lets see them on the field of play.
Now what is silly about the post

Whats silly?

1. Implementing a 3-4 is rarely if ever successful in its first year. We don't have the personnel.
2. Putting a bunch of freshmen on the field really doesn't give us any chance of winning a single game in conference.
3. And you saw how freshmen DBs performed last night... burned.

Any more questions?

Dude most of us knew the true 3-4 would be a few years away. We have nowhere near the personnel. Pruitt knows it. As far as letting the FR play, Pruitt really has no choice. The upperclassmen are not that good. Pruitt is between a rock and a hard place. Play the FR and struggle then have people bash him because he played them. Or not play them and get bashed because he didnt.

He will and should play the FR.

A 3-4 would be 3 to 4 years away...I dont know how the other freshman would perform in a real game...not until you play them...we saw how the whole team played last night...

Its a throw away year...we want to see which freshman have it and who doesnt have it on the field of play...you can coach kids up but you can't increase their speed...if you are two steps slower than the receiver you are covering then you are toast...coverage is your only hope...
We want to see who has the skills..the talent while a whole lot isnt being expected of Pruitt and he has a first year freebie...

Yep. Solid plan. Matters not what the coaches see every day in practice. Only matters when fans get to make their highly technical judgments by watching non-experienced players get handled even worse.

It's a can't miss proposition I tell ya.

Don’t preach to the idiots, let them have their time in fantasyland. When this team gets better, they’ll pretend week 1 didn’t happen. I’m about done and disgusted with my fellow vol fans on this site after this game. I’m just gonna watch silently and watch their butthurt fade as we get better. I’ve had enough for now, this bs is too much.

I’m a Vol fan and always will be. Just because I’m disgusted by the way some of our fellow fans have treated our coach and players after one game, doesn’t mean I’m gone for good. Reread that you bad a** m’fer you......... I was sticking up for you and you’re too dumb to even realize it. Lay off the good stuff slick.

You can't coach speed.

Like the last few years our linebackers are s-l-o-w, our DB's aren't football smart and our DL cannot pressure.

We already have 3 of our pups playing in the secondary. "Burnt Toast" Buchanan is clueless. Our OL apparently think they are matadors, "Ole!"

If you didn't know that the head coach was changed, it looked just like last year.

But much better after game press conference. Yay?

Burned against one of the Best QBs we will face. DBs will get better. It takes a game like this for a DB (especially a freshman to figure out what he needs to do to compete against good talent)

Buchanan I don't believe will start next game..... He would just let the receiver run by him.... It was almost pathetic.
