and here is what I saw:

1) we have athletes that rival anyone in the conference
2) the opening kickoff really deflated players on the sidelines
3) Hardesty was eager to go in throughout the game, but sat on the bench late 3rd-all 4th quarter with a towel around his head; After last 2 weeks of play, why did he not go in?
4) Kenny O'Neal's body language shows he has very little confidence...and the fumble should be of no suprise
5) start of 4th quarter, only 2 UT players held up 4 fingers, plenty of bama players did
6) Our guys are focused on the sidelines when they come out, no goofing around...but, as a bama player said in their postgame locker room interview, UT guys were really pumped up at first, but lost their intensity in the second half and didn't seem to play nearly as hard

This is poor coaching rearing its ugly head. UT is always the sucker for a trick play or being caught sleeping. It will happen every time.

sadly, this has been one of the main problems all season long.

3) I haven't been really high On Hardesty but he deserves to be getting in there. Why they had Creer instead of him in there amazes me.

I would take Hardesty over Coker as of now. For some reason he's just stopped playing his game and giving 100% effort. I would say he and Fulmer aren't quite on the same page based on previous incidents

It kills me. To the players it seems to be just another day at the office. It wasn't always that way.

All goes back to coaching.

Coker has been dissapointing this year. I don't know if it's just his running style, or what, but I am uneasy most of the time when he's in the backfield.

At the same time, though, I feel like we somehow need to get the ball in his hands.

Our problem was not runningthe ball today. AF had a great game, and tried to keep us in it. My hat goes off to him.

Our problem was we had a bunch of scarecrows on defense.

Player's reflect the coach. Saban was pissed about giving up a field goal at the end of the first half. What do we get after bama shreds our pathetic defense yet again, walrus clapping. Yeah the players have a ho hum additude because the coach does.

What do you expect? Our coach has no confidence in them and he gave up. I mean he doesn't go for any fourth and shorts when everyone else knows this is going to be a high scoring game and that our defense is not going to stop them. Especially when our offense can't sustain any drives to give them a few breathers. What Bama had something like 30-35 more plays than us?

Not to mention that he totally wimped out and waved the white flag with the punt at the end.

That sucks considering that he was on the bad end of a bad hand-off (O'neal)

That makes zero sense. Coaching has nothing to do with someone going for an onside on the opening kickoff. I'm sure guys are told to pay attention, but you cannot tell me they're expecting that because how often does it really happen? You can try to point the finger for some other reason, but not for something as stupid as this.

Go ahead and reel of the list of "trick plays" or them being caught sleeping. Every time? I'll wait patiently for all of these plays that lead to such easy results for the opposing team. You'd think every team would do it every game wouldn't you?

.....should have been being the key phrase.......out of the box coaching is what we were a victim of.........and will continue to be. Think how bad Saban would have beaten Bammer with our athletes

interesting observations. in a word, I think your suggesting this team dosn't have leadership on the sidelines.

senior players to motivate the younger players and keep them motivated and playing hard. for whatever reason, the guys who normally should be doing that, Ainge, chris brown, etc aren't able to connect.

volbreaker, the "out of the box" coaching is spot on I think.

oklavol, spot on with Ainge, Brown, etc. I'm not sure where the lack of connection, chemistry, leadership is, but it certainly isn't on the sidelines. Every time they show Ainge, he's either on the phone or sitting there wiping his face with a towel. Rarely do you see the offensive or defensive units or coaches pumping each other up or anything like that.

Lack of confidence maybe?

Kudos on the Kate Beckinsale avatar.....she's numero uno on my list of things to do before I die. hahaha

thanks. i haven't figured out why Ainge can't get the offense inspired. If a senior QB can't do it, who can?

As a lifelong Bama fan, I feel your pain! It is so nice to finally have a coach who desn't just stand there and clap after we make a bad play. Mike Shula and our own Walrus, Mike DuBose used to make me so damn mad when we'd fumble or give up a huge play and bth would just stand there and clap. Let me tell you something brother, for true Bama, Vol, Tiger, Gator fans or whomever you really love, it's gut wrenching to watch your coach stand there and clap as if he's saying "wish I could do something but I can't so I'll just stand here and clap". I must say I've always really disliked you guys because you're Vol fans but I don't mean this in that kind of way...I think it's time for a coaching change in Tennessee. Fulmer has run his course and it's just time. Watching Saban tear off his headset today and pickin' back up and screamin' into it made me finally feel like we had a real coach for a change and I think you have to agree, it re-focused our players after the half...I'm pretty sure after seeing that, Saban tore some a-s up in the locker room. Just what Tennessee needs...trust me, it'll make you feel so much better than someone just standing there clapping helplessly. Good luck the rest of the season fellas. Mike "Crimson White" Graham

Ok...can't let you get away with that statement. You just got beat 41-17 by Alabama. Are you saying Saban single-handedly beat you 41-17 and our athletes had little to do with it? Fella...you may wanna wake up from your dream...we still draw some of the best athletes in the nation but you're telling me that the drubbing you just took was all coaching? As a former college player myself, let me explain something to ya...coaches put you in a position to win but your athletes win the game. "Think how bad Saban would have beaten Bammer with our athletes" is about the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard. You may wanna brush up on your football knowledge before making another stupid remark like that. Saban put our players in a position to win, John Parker Wilson and D.J. Hall
(TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Junior quarterback John Parker Wilson threw for 363 yards and three touchdowns against No. 20 Tennessee Saturday, leading the Alabama offense to a 24-point win over the Vols at Bryant-Denny Stadium, 41-17.

Wilson’s 363 yards gave the Hoover native his second 300-yard passing performance of the season, and for the sixth time this year senior receiver DJ Hall was his primary target. Hall caught 13 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns in the game, setting the Alabama single-game record for catches.
just schooled Tennessee on gettin' it done. Don't mean to stir shi- fellas, but that made no sense whatsoever! Mike "Crimson White" Graham

Crimson White, I believe Saban and his staff has everything to do with that win on Saturday. You have pretty much the same team as last year, except maybe Grant in place of Darby. Your defense is young. But, I was in Neyland last year and saw Shula, with pretty much the same guys, indecision himself into losing to the Vols. As I remember, we came off an open date and Ainge was not sharp at all. But with bama players begging Shula to go for it on 4th and goal from the one, he kicked a field goal and the life went out of your team for the rest of the game. Same type of thing happening to us this year. Saban, in his 1st shortened recruiting admittingly has not gotten who he wants. So, yes Saban was huge yesterday. PLUS, SHULA WOULD HAVE NEVER ONSIDE KICKED THE OPENING KICKOFF. THAT IS COACHING.

To our coaching defense, I was impressed by our offensive line coaches constantly trying to pump our guys up on the bench and going over assignments. Running backs coaches were there some. Ainge was never talking with our offensive players on the side from what I saw. But there is unity between our receivers, our backs, and our line. Pulling for one another and trying to keep each other up.
