I Remember.......

I remember when go carts were on the ground and not on the raised tracks. I also remember when I thought driving the Tin Lizzie's at Opryland was freedom on the road for 10 year old boy.

I remember taking my paycheck from my High School job, and spending all of it racing Go Karts in Pigeon Forge

I never paid .79, but I pumped gas for my parents/grandparents when it was that or below.

I remember coasting into a service station on fumes in my '64 Chevy SS and filling the 18 gallon tank up for $8.00. Also, got a free check under the hood, windshield cleaned and air in the tires by the attendant.

I remember when there were great concerts on campus: Stokely Athletic Center, Circle Park, Alumni Gym. And, The Place on Cumberland with Friday happy hour with all the beer you could drink for a dollar plus great bands.

I remember when I still wanted my MTV. They can take it back now.

I remember payin .79 for a gal of gas.

I remember the first job I ever had...It was at a Texaco Gas station in Colonial Village (South Knoxville for you heatherns) Regular gas 28 cents a gal, mid grade was 32cents and high test was 36 cents.

Of course I was making a hugh paycheck....50 cents an hour LOL

Yep...right beside the old Valley Honda shop

I remember that Honda shop. Long time ago old guy. Until you mentioned the Texaco, the only one I could remember was the Pure station right up from it on the right. You might not remember that one.

I remember...but I would not have if you hadn't reminded me.... there was another station on the other side (I think it is a car lot now) but can't remember the type of gas they had...

I don't remember the one opposite. I only remember the Pure station because at one time they gave away Badge 714's (Dragnet) as gifts. Also, as some others did, the gave away place settings (plates, cups, saucers, etc.) with purchases. I remember the Honda shop from the mid 60's. Not sure how long it was there. I went to grammar and high school locally in that area. As, always, Dudley Hodges's at the top of the hill on the right. And, A&W Root Beer just opposite his store.
