I Remember.......

I remember a sign my Dad had on his door at school. He was the principal and the sign on the outside of his door read "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."
The sign on his desk read "Every third case gets the board (paddle), my second case just left."
He was a hard a$$ but he made me a man. I miss him.

Good. I think I've kicked the return to Tennessee disease. Took awhile, though. 'Sup with you?

I remember walking to the 7-11 that was about a mile from my house, and buying a whole bag full of candy for 50 cents. Not even worrying about Pedophiles or freaks.

I miss the late '70's/early '80's. Life was so simple when I was a kid. It's a lot more complex for kids today.

used to ride my Stormer bike all over SE Memphis. If you ran into a problem, you either fought or peddled fast. Days were spent playing stickball, basketball, jumping bikes, nerf tackle football, then ride a mile or so up to 7-11 for some jungle juice and a chocodile.

I don't like the idea of everyone everywhere having a camera in their pocket at all times.

5 cent Cokes from a vending machine. We used to make badges with the caps. The caps had cork on the inside. You would separate the cork from the cap, place the cork on the inside of your shirt and press the cap over it from the outside of your shirt.

Memories, anyone?

I use to use the caps for arrow heads ... made good ones because they would clamp over the arrow and hold firmly and their shape made them east to sharpen

We used a coat hanger. Cut of a short piece, flatten the end with a hammer, split the end of the homemade arrow and slide the point in. Wrap tied it with cord.

Cool, I was never that inventive... I killed many of unsuspecting birds with a bottle cap tho ..LOL :cray:

I did try to bend a coat hanger to make a fish hook, couldn't get it to work :)
