I Remember.......

I remember when you could actually prank call people and get away with it. Curse you caller ID.

I can remember being on a party phone line. No, not the 900 kind, but the one where you had to listen to the tone and tempo of the ring to know who for the call was.

We used to be able to hear our neighbors if they were on the phone at the same time we were.

I remember when music was played and sang by performers with "heart". Smokey, Looking Glass, Otis Redding, Spinners, etc...

Old country was good, too. Merle Haggard, Cash, Campbell, Horton, etc...

R&R with Nugent, Hendrix, Van Halen (pre-1985), AC/DC, BTO, etc...

My first car, a 1971 Maverick Grabber.
The real first taste of independence.

The days before all yore fancy cables and sattelights with 3,000 channels and remote controls, and colors, and what nots.

Heck, I can still remember being the remote control for the tv.

I was also the signal directional finder, you know, the antenna turner.
Why I distinctly remember my daddy saying, no yelling, "TURN IT! TURN IT!". "STOP!". "THE OTHER WAY!".

Antena turner wasn't so bad, less there was lightning, then it was touch and go.

I remember those complicated days! My granny never did buy a remote TV!

I remember my parents renting a VCR at the video store, because buying one cost hundreds of dollars!

This dude was a hoot to listen to on the radio back in the day.
