I Remember.......

Probably I'm too old to remember what it tasted like but I do remember when took a pack o my grandfathers Kools and those messed a couple of 8 and 9 year olds up

I saw an 8 year old kid turn green smoking one day. We were on the playground, I was about 10, and an older kid dared him to put an entire pack of Camel's in his mouth and smoke them at once. That should have been enough to keep me away from them, but it didn't.

A non filtered camel would still give me a buzz

I remember when I was young and my grandfather gave me some chewing tobacco. That was the first and only time for me.

I remember when bacon was sold by the pound, not a 12-14 oz package. Also, remember when ice cream was sold by the half gallon, not 1.5 quarts. I think this screwing the consumer thing started about 20 years ago.

it's a way to take pricing, without raising the price
there's even a fancy term for it called
Price Pack Architecture

What's coffee down to now about 12z, instead of a pound

I think so. I quit drinking it about a year ago. Downsize the package amount and keep the price up. Sneaky profit gouging to screw the customer. I don't buy much bacon but I bought some today. I based my purchase on the one item that was actually a pound. It was the same price as the 12 oz packages.

Bacon has been in the last few years, I think. Unfortunately, the price is the same, just the unit price for pork has gone through the roof.

Only way to do it is buy a Yorkshire on the hoof

I remember when you had more posts than me, and you were living in Mountain Time Zone and we stayed up late into the nigh posting. Hope you're having a great day and Happy B-Day!!!

Thanks, TEX. Yeah, those were different and great times. I sort of slowed down with the postings there somewhere. Thanks, again.

I remember wooden tv's on the floor...
VCR was an amazing electronic must have....corded phones.....snail mail letters....

I remember when moonshine was illegal and so was Mary jane.....also people smoked in restaurants and almost everywhere....people would always pull over for a funeral.....

I remember when our football team won 9 or 10 games and it was considered a bad year

I know. Going to games or watching on TV, the thought of losing never entered my mind. We did lose a few each year but all the wins were great fun. But, we had to get beyond that so firing the coach was the next step 'cause that's how we roll. I'm glad I have those memories because I don't think I'm going to get to relive them during my lifetime.
