I really wanted to believe in Dooley but....

how do you know? Unless you watch them every game and count the players you would have no clue
Really PJ? Is this really the argument you're going to make. A fan of alabama state would know about tennessee and the substitution problems.

So the one time they had the wrong number on the field is why we lost 41-10

I had no idea that was such a turning point in the game

It happened more than once.

They would have lost this game anyways but to say the coaches aren't making mistakes that are preventable is insanity.

If you think the head coach is standing on the sideline counting players you obviously don't have a clue. The leaders on the field are responsible for that, the coach wouldn't normally have time to change it anyway without burning a time out. We are developing leaders so give them time to get their act together.

Forget the substitution. Dooley is a coward. Give me one reason why we don't take a shot at the end zone at the end of the 1st half. WHY ARE WE PLAYING FOR FGS!

No that's called a new staff that hasen't coached together and youth on the team. Mistakes are something that they will eventually learn from.

Getting 11 guys on the field is something you learn in pee wee football. Did we have this problem under Kiffin? They were a new coaching staff.

yes it is. If it wasn't pointed out by Dooley most would have no clue it even happened (besides the LSU play). Stats aren't kept for only having 10 players on the field

To all the people blasting the OP...

I've seen pee-wee leagues be able to line up for a field goal block. It's really not that difficult.

The OP has a valid point, there is a looming problem with substitutions, or just lining up for simple plays in general. And since we have such fewer players than anyone else, shouldn't it be easier to find the ones who belong on the field? Good grief.

So....you all solid on Obama? Or should we all be forced out of the country? Quit with the superfan crap, it's ridiculous.

Really??!?? So why do I frequently see head coaches counting the number of players on the field before kickoffs and FG attempts?

Recruits will begin to notice this too.

Look for this class to begin to have some defections soon.

I look for us to have a few more "fan" defections. It would do us some good to drop the dead weight.

...pssst... because Simms is horrible and whenever we get within 10-20 yards of the end zone and they call a pass to the end zone he throws it to the other team.

Dear God I hope Bray improves or we're sunk. Simms is just unbearably bad, freshmen o-line be damned. Your freshman o-line can't read the coverage for you and tell you to throw into double or triple. Good job man.

At the end of the day, our football program is in complete disaster, and our bball program is not far behind. This will be an ugly couple of years, better prepare now.

I've led, trained young soldiers for many years, and you wouldn't believe how many times 18-22 year old kids will do the wrong thing, even when told over and over. After a while they usually get it.

i'm beginning to wonder if hiring dooley was hamilton's desperation move when he couldn't get his phone calls returned by any serious candidate. derrick might be the tennessee version of mike shula or ron zook.

Well, I ain't gonna be one of 'em but if you think I'm going to be OK with the way this team is playing because "we're going to be good in a few years.... just give Dooley time"... well... Screw that. Another two years of this and we'll never recover. Recruits who are 17-18 years old don't care about what happened ten or twenty years ago, they want to win NOW. That ain't happening with this staff.

After a WHILE??!?! Let me remind you that by the time these kids are 22 most are out of eligibility.... That's cool for the armed forces I guess but we gotta have folks who get the idea that ther is a certian shelf-life for being a college athlete.....

I'm sure all veterans here understand the term "shelf life" better than any college athlete ever will.

Especially combat brigades.

Again If you aren't happy find a new team
