Because of the extreme viewpoints on each side of the fan base. However, you're fooling yourself if you don't think Tennessee can go after Gruden or Chip Kelly. How many times did Saban turn down Bama? How many times did Meyer turn down Ohio State? How many times did Harbaugh turn down Michigan? If Tennessee wants to compete with those three schools, they better be willing to pay with the big boys.

So you hardly ever post (25k posts) then you suggest Chip Kelly? You want to have NCAA sanctions in two years?

Jon Gruden last coached 8 years ago.
NFL Record 100-84. .548 %

Last stop in the college ranks 1989, passing game coordinator.
I'm sure he could be bought if someone is dumb enough the pay him $20 million a year. But why would he leave that nice soft recliner at ESPN to go back to talking to 17 year olds mama?

Last time it was only about 9 mil with staff? What changed to add an additional 11 mil? UT negotiated themselves right out of that deal. The people that are willing to fork out the money for a coach are dying off or have lost interest in the state of the program. Old vs New. The next AD will have to rebuild the funds and seek newer donors to pull us out of this mess.

07 signed up the same time I did. His 24,000 posts is because when he first got here he would have 500 or more a day

Bring in Jim Bob Cooter as a o-coordinator/ coach in waiting. Let Shoop bring in his guys for the defense and Butch can leave the play calling to those guys and let Butch handle the media

Well that was 4 years ago, it's the cost of living :)

Again, this man has not coached in 8 years. He has not coached in college since 1989. I enjoy watching him break down film on QB's but I just don't see him suddenly returning to college to work 100 hours a week schmoozing high school prima donnas.

Pipe dream, why don't you add Chris Petersen and Bill Belichick to this list? :good!:
