I prefer to look at these stats (True QB ratings)

Solid! JG has made nice strides. Bet his NFL QBR is higher though because he has THREE rushing TDs haha.

He has played better so far in the first 2 games. Hopefully he has a career day Saturday.
BIG ask from him vs #1 national secondary and with a decent WR corps, but really not All American types to kill that type of an elite secondary. They have 3 5*s and we are starting 3 3*s.

JG and Chaney will need a ton of help from the run game. They are due it after being dragged down by the (harsh, but just facts) worst rushing attack in the SEC the past 2 years. Time they pull their weight and I think they do it and then some the rest of the year! Lettuce!

JG was off on his accuracy against South Carolina and that's definitely hurt his numbers, but he's been really good the first two games with his decision making and not hanging onto the ball too long. He made some noticeable improvement in his accuracy from game 1 to game 2. It'll be interesting to see how he does against UGA. Year two in the same offense seems to be working out for him so far.

This can still be a bit misleading. This stat is heavily dependent on the rest of the offensive team. Is it any surprise jones is number 1 with the weapons he has? JG has a pretty good squad around him. Would Colin Hill have a better rating if he had our guys? Would JG have a worse rating than he has if he had Carolina’s offensive squad? We’ll never know for sure. I wish JG the best and hope he has a great year, but it’ll be wins and losses that determine that, not this stat.

The biggest problem from JG is that he misses the small/easy things which would allow him easily advance up the QB ladder to somewhere between decent and good.

FYI as soon as JG hits the middle or lower portion of this list your stats will be no longer be accepted by the homers and vigorously challenged and countered with things like "big time throws", "spin velocity compared to a laden swallows velocity while carrying two coconuts", and the time tested and nite post approved "too many OC's".

I know this stat will not last as the season goes on but JG currently leads the team with rushing TDs (3) through our first two games.

Not meaning to be confrontational, but why do you feel that ESPN's subjective, proprietary algorithm is the true QB rating? It assumes quite a bit, talking about the "context" of a play, how a qb impacted running plays (how do they know what was called and what adjustments a qb made for the direction of a running play or blocking adjustments?), etc. This description from ESPN about their rating listed below is enough of a source for variation to make the rating no more useful than an eyeball test for me:

"This process of determining the EPA, dividing credit among the QB and his teammates and then determining the weight of play occurs for every play in which a quarterback is involved. All of these plays are then added together and divided by the total number of clutch-weighted plays to produce a per-play measure of QB efficiency."

Frustrating that we’ve let JG get sacked 4 times. That being said, he needs to work on escaping pressure.

Harry Potter for Georgia escapes pressure pretty well to be honest. JG needs to know when to sprint to the sideline and look for the bail out man or throw the ball away

Middle of the road on everything, 4 sacks against 2 bad SEC teams and 2 passing TDs... What numbers are you getting out of these that are speaking to your soul???

JG is a decent starter, but he's not particularly good or highly talented... He misses open receivers, hangs onto the ball too long, and stares down receivers... Unacceptable at this point...

If you’re referring to my post, I believe that the “Quarterback Rating” in the last column (QBR) is a more accurate assessment of who‘s been the most efficient SEC QBs at this juncture. I just clicked on the “QBR“ column to generate the list of who the best QBs are after 2 games. There was an earlier post showing a different rating of QBs that I felt were not indicative of what I have watched.
