.....Bill Curry coaching tenure at Alabama. He will bolt after this year to another school. He has lost the fan base and it will only get more ugly. (Hopefully no deranged Vol fan will throw a brick thru his window like the did to Curry). So you people who want a coaching change, root for Butch to win big this year, so a Michigan State or a Notre Dame comes calling.

You couldn't melt and pour Butch on those two programs.
They wouldn't have him.

Bama ended up with a national championship 3 seasons after Curry left town.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are correct. UT will wind up with another "Dooleyesque" hire and our resident drama queens will have more fuel for another 5 years.

PS. note to rocky...there's a lot of us who do root for Butch to win...he is the head coach at the University of Tennessee/Ktown...no less...:)

I've never rooted for us to lose a game going back to Bill Battle's final days as head coach. There are defining moments when you realize the end is coming. For Battle it was when in a tie game against Georgia he went for it on fourth and 2 at the UGA 34 yard line and failed. For Butch it was the blotched first and goal from the half yard line Saturday.

Not sure who would really hire Butch. He definitely stabilized our program, and refilled the cupboard with some talent. The issue is, what has he done with it. Year 5 and 1 or 2 injuries and we are in big trouble. He hasn't developed any talent that has come here. We have a set of twins with the last name of Berry that we can only use on special teams! Really!

Butch isn't going anywhere on his own. There are no P5 schools interested in hiring him, and he's not a moron who walks away from a job that pays $4 million a year, not even when his feelings are hurt as bad as they will be by the end of the season.

Honest question- are there people dumb enough to honestly believe Notre Dame or Michigan State would hire Butch Freaking Jones?

Why dont we spend less time worrying about what or how it will end and let him do his job? The Florida loss is unacceptable, and he will likely lose to Vandy. I hope we is successful. I like Butch. Things take care of themselves.

Not saying it's ok but there was a time when a brick through a window was common. If a couple boys are fighting in the parking lot, nobody should call the cops. Now days everyone is soft. And I'm not old.

This is football, they don't take care of themselves. No matter how bad players have played during a game, if there is still an opportunity to win the game, it is BUTCH'S job to make sure they are put in position to win. It's also his job to develop or make sure his staff develops players. Not done! Do his job, he has had 5 years and this is the best he will ever do coaching this team.

Wrong! If you will remember, bUTch replaced Kelly at Central Michigan. then bUTch replaced Kelly at Cincinnati, so why bUTch NOT replace Kelly at Notre Dame??????

The real tell is, all those that loved, loved, loved Jones for so long, and attacked those that had the nerve to point out he was a second tier coach, have now (finally) started coming around to the fact, Jones has reached his peak, and it's not that high!!! UT deserves better. I agree with those that don't think Jones will leave on his own-nobody that would pay half what we are would want him. You don't hire a coach to stabilize your program-you hire him to deliver a winning program. I know I won't be alone when I say I'll be happy as hell to see him go. I don't know about the brick, but a Ryder truck parked in front of his house may deliver the message it has in the past!
