I was there as well......nasty rainy night, but one of.my favorite games of.all time to attend. Only game comparable was the 98' "No......Sir.....eee" wide right OT kick against Florida.....what a magical year (and decade really) as a high school - young man I always thought we'd be amazing. Wish I knew to enjoy it more at the time.

I was there and got to move up due to the many fans who hit the exits just before this happened.

Beautiful moment, and all the Arkansas fans were so kind after the game. I wouldn’t have been as gracious.

I was there, sitting in the pouring ass rain, totally bummed about the loss about to come. Then out of nowhere it happened....a miracle! The stumble heard 'round the world.

He was injured throughout the 2nd part of that season
I remember he missed the Auburn game, but did he miss the entire Arkansas game?

As an aside, Ramseur showed that year while filling in for Al that he was going to b a very good MLB of the future. Too bad he was dismissed from the team.

No he played some during the Arky game, he was the one who blocked and returned the FG...I want to say Al hurt his pectoral muscle on that play, but I can't remember for sure

I didn’t say it out loud out of fear to jinx it, but deep down I knew they were going to win the National Championship after that gift.

That's right! Forgot about that play!

Man, our defense really bailed out the offense that day. Tee was awful that game. He was pretty awful in most of the big games that year, other than the bowl game. That final drive after the recovery, they just took the ball out of his hands and told the OLine and Henry to go win it.

I was at this game with my Dad and will never forget the roar from the crowd after the fumble recovery. There were thousands of fans rushing back into the stadium once they realized they left too soon.

I wish people would quit saying it was a "miracle" or a "gift". Nothing was gifted! That whole game thing went against us. We were down 3 scores in the 2nd quarter and we dominated the second half to come back and win. It's an insult to the players to keep saying that "we were just lucky". NO! We were just GOOD!

And let me just add. We got the ball back around mid-field with about 2 minutes left. We aggressively drove the ball down the field for the winning touchdown. We didn't worry about the clock. We didn't try to get cute and milk off all the seconds. We attacked! We scored, and we won. It might be good for the coaching staff to go back an look at how Phil ended that game. Especially when thinking of the Georgia game and the MSU game this year. Phil did a lot of things right.

People never remember even if he hadn't fumbled we were getting the ball back with a chance for long FG to win it

Relax buddy. I know what they did that year. I watched every play. We got the ball back with 1:43 and had 5 runs to get in and Henry ended with 197. I wasn’t saying gifted as in lucky. I was using gifted as in a gift from the football gods. Most times you are beat in that situation.
