yeah, up until this year I would go to a local bar where all of us ex pats from UT will congregate in central Florida to watch the games (if we didn't travel). This year we just didn't have the heart after the Florida game.

I might occasionally yell at the TV, but now I am just numb to it because I know how the game will turn out. The last 4 games I have been within a few points of gett8ng the score correct.

I'll be honest. I used to let every loss actually affect me and sometimes it would all week long.....until the ext game (never took it out on my wife and kids though). However the past 10 years have humbled me as a fan... And as a person. I don't even get upset anymore.

I watch every game with my grandson and win or lose we have a blast.

I think I could deal with the losses better if our coach hadn’t given all opposing fans, and onlookers in general, an endless supply of quotes and actions that always make Tennessee the butt of the joke

Truly an embarrassing era in Tennessee Football

And he never takes accountability for anything. That’s what ticks me off. Someone so arrogant and never thinks that they’re in the wrong.

LOL what is funny is he will say "I take full responsibility for this game" at the beginning of the presser and then proceed to throw everyone including the janitor under the bus.

Thats what drives me crazy. Well that and the arrogance of him thinking hes such a great coach he can get by playing people like jumper. Very few coaches could overcome that, especially not Lyle.

Btw after the game Butch said Bituli's been fighting injuries....WTF?

Injurious coaching I assumed.

This! You know what my wife and I did yesterday? Adopted a new puppy into our home! We spent the day buying supplies and spent rest of the day/night working on house training him. Not once did we think about the game, nor cared. I checked the final score last night and said "yep, bout what I expected.

I’m in beautiful Hawaii but still could not resist the urge to support my beloved Vols. I just had no expectations for the game — reminded me of the trip to Norman to watch us play against Oklahoma. It was easy to watch knowing we would lose.

People would walk by and ask how my team was doing and my answer was the same for each “we suck because we have no offense, but they are still my team”

I watched the entire game and stood the whole time. Stone cold sober.

It went as expected.

I want to remember what this feels like so when we pay back it will be particularly sweet.

Nope. I thought the 5-0 record after the Georgia game last year was both miraculous and a fluke given how 3 of those 5 transpired. Then A&M brought a little reality check. Still the team never quit. Alas, losing 49-10 at home to Bammer showed me all I wanted to see. We should never lose like that to anyone, especially the hated Tide. Frankly, the last 13 years of average to really bad football is turning me apathetic towards this program. If they don't get this next coach right and turn it around I'm done. I mean look at what Penn State has done in about 3 years after their program was almost dead from the scandals.

Unfortunately, the GT game feels like 5 years ago at this point. I knew this season wasn't going to be pretty, but any fan that says they seen this dumpster fire coming this year is probably lying.

If Butch just wins two that he should have (Florida and South Carolina), we're likely not having this conversation about his removal right now.

For me, I keep rooting for our team. But I admit I'm numb. It's gotten to the point where I don't expect to win - or even be competitive - in the games that matter. And I expect we'll struggle in all others (UMass this year, Ohio and Appy State last season). I hate it. I really do.

Somebody called this "battered fan syndrome," and as far as I can tell it's a real condition.

Dooley was the same way, at least until he was walking off of Vanderbilt's field. I have a feeling the wheels are turning. The only concern now is where they will stop.

Well, let's see. Yesterday I went to the bookstore and took one of my kids to get craft stuff for a school project. Then I watched 1922 on Netflix (and it was better than I expected. If you are in to creepy, check it out).
