Beagle? Foxhound? Maybe a Walker?

On my way back to the shop today, i saw a dog dart across a major highway here in CT, my driver stopped, and i grabbed the little bugger out of traffic. He has a collar, no tags, and is about starved.

I put a Craig's ad out, and will put one in the local paper, describing the area i found him, and asking for folks to call me and identify him. My other 2 dogs arent too keen on the company for now, but he seems relieved to find a warm place to flop over and sleep.

Just makes your case for GURU that much stronger.:) Lead from the front but have a heart and pick up strays on the side of the road. Are you going to wait before you name him? We both know your gonna keep him if know one claims him. Hell..he's a VolNation superstar now, he has his own thread.

Well, if he stays here for good his name is going to be Bradley, after the M3A2 i spent so much of my life on, and of course the 1st AG commander..

Thanks, i think so. Heading into 70MPH traffic after a puppy/dog whatever he may be, hope the vet can help with that, wasnt a good idea.

Of course, bayonet charges arent a good idea either, but when you need action and have no sensible alternetive, do something.

Not that i planned anything, I went from doing a crossword puzzle to holding a shaking dog over the course of 20 seconds, not quite sure how, or why.

I can't wait to get to the vet to get a guess as to his age...He's colored like a Foxhound/Walker, huge paws as compared to his size, and stands longer and leaner frame wise than a typical beagle (but keep in mind i can feel every bone he is so hungry)

He's very timid around my other 2 dogs (both females) which leads me to think he's a youngin, but with his weight and (assuming he'd been taken care of at home) he's been on the lam for a while..

I thought you might name him Robert E. Train.

We just bought a mini daschund. We had a basset but gave him to my Dad. Good dog.
Have a mini daschund, horrible breath-awesome dog. We had a beagle for a few years until he passed away in january...I still miss that dog.

I hope everything turns out for your lost dog jtrain, sounds like a cutie. My friend at work lost her puppy golden retriver, only to find out that it ended up in a pound behind her house, and the owner denied she ever had the puppy. My friend had a strong feeling the owner had her puppy, so she pursued this woman relentlessly, put adds in the paper, and even got the police invoved, this went on for three weeks, and in the end, the owner of the pound confessed to having the puppy. My friend was reunited with her puppy last week.

Long or short haired? Ours is long haired.

We too had a beagle. She died 2 yrs ago. She lived about 15 yrs. She was a great dog.
