Watching Chubb run- why does he look so much more intimidating- never goes down- doesn't get leg tackled- seems to have a lot more space

I think Hurd is great but what is it? He was tackled after 2 yards over and over against appy- do y'all think it's scheme or o line- lack of a fullback or passing game?

You just get a sense Chubb will get 8 yards every time he touches it- and I think Hurd is just as good. Any opinions?

Better Oline play would do wonders.

Chubb has a lower center of gravity as well.

Hurd is a tall RB, sometimes it's hard for him to get low enough to break some of those leg tackles.

Hurd is still a beast though.

You should probably go back and watch highlights from Hurd running in the Missouri game last year

Hurd had a bad game and still had over 100 yards with a center and guards knocked on their butts most the night. This game is not on him.

You no sooner post your ode to Chubb and he gets stuffed on 3rd and two. He's a good back, appears to have lost his top end at this point, old Chubb would not have gotten caught like he has so far. UNC has an RB performing about as well. He's alright, I've seen nothing in Chubb so far that the 2 UNC RBs dont have.

Good lord we have some whinny fans. Hurd would start on every team in the NCAA, minus maybe 5 teams if that.

Hey lets start another thread putting down our players. Great job OP. And stop pretending like its not exactly what it is, a knock on Hurd. I am so glad some of you hate that we have a guy like Hurd. The fact that he will set the school record for rushing yards while running behind the OLs he has had is something special. If Hurd had been running through the huge holes Henry, Chubb and Fournette have been, I think his stats would be just as good.

Every yard Hurd gets is on him. He hardly ever gets to hit a hole running downhill and accelerate into the second level the way Chubb is doing.

Honestly, Hurd is probably a mismatch for our offense.

Hurd is an exceptional RB.

He dragged so many defenders for net minimal gains.

No blocking and still had over 100 yards.

AND he was the best pass blocker we had!

I'm with you. Plus the kid was still over 100 yds rushing and saved the game/won us the game with a fumble recovery.

His pass blocking is something that tends to go unnoticed. He's saved Dobbs plenty of times.

Agreed tired of reading from rhetorical Chubb lovers when what they really want is to knock Hurd. Chubb has not demonstrated he can be an every down back in the SEC over time. He's now started his 3rd season completing one where Hurd is 2 for 2 and on number 3. Chubb has been open several times today and cannot hit the gear he once had, it may return but it's not there. The UNC RBs today appear as dangerous and have great rushing stats as well. Chubb, he's alright but he may be the next Larrimore greatest of all times that never happened.

Hey let's all talk about how bad hurd is but never mention the fact that he has to fight for every single yard. If they give him a chance to get going then look out

Wrong....chubb has speed....period....no offense to hurd...but lets be honest here...now ...I think kamara has that burst...but...I guess butch like hurds physicality over speed and finesse..jmo...GBO!!!!

Big diffenece between the 2. Getting a handoff at full speed vs standing still is a huge difference. I dont think we have ever seen Hurds full potential because of the offensive formations we run.

Didn't they run a few plays out of the I (or at least similar) against Northwestern?

I thought they did and Hurd, as expected, showed out.
