Urban Meyer will be monumentally successful at Ohio State. He has the chance to do something very special there.

Might be a great hired but I'm not sure if UM is completey tan & rested yet...time will tell

Urban is going to do great in the Big Ten IMHO. He is a very good coach and its not nearly as difficult as the SEC. They hit a home run with this hire -- as long as his 'health' isn't an issue.

Anyone that thinks that this isn't a homerun for the Buckeyes is either not being honest with themselves or extremely ignorant.

Personally, I like the hire. Urban Myer at Ohio State hurts us alot less than Urban Myer at Florida.

Well, I'm not really cheering for the guy, but they did make a great hire.

He'll change the way the entire conference plays football ... bringing elite speed into the big10+2 will force the rest of the conference to adapt.

I still say he figured out his better days were behind him at UF w/o Tebow, though.

But I do wish we would/could make that kind of homerun hire. I'm thinking Hart should call Seattle and see if Coach Carroll is tired of the NFL yet.:D

Anything that hurts Florida makes me happy. And I think this hire is going to kill them.

Bryan Kelly at N.D., Muschump at Fl., Brady Hoke at Michigan, Lane Kiffin at USC, and now The Urban Legend at OSU. Thats 5 of the biggest programs, out there and too me with the Exception of of Myer, and with his health issues, and no Tebow you could throw him in as well. As the Jury being out on all these Guys. With that being said Who could we get as a cant miss HC? And if theres not one guy out there is the risk worth the Reward?

Let it go...

I have heard it was more to do with him and Foley not seeing eye to eye. I don't know if it was all health reasons or if it was Foley or what it was.

All I know is he was a great coach while he was there and then seemed to lose interest in coaching the last two years. No ill feelings from me. I am sure he will be a great coach and the Buckeyes certainly upgraded at coach.

Maybe the Old Ball Coach at South Carolina?

But you see...he always had this in his sights....the problem for CUM was bad coaching hires after the coaches he took from the Notre Dame...to Utah...and then they followed him to Flordia....that was the reason for leaving Flordia...then going to work for ESPN he has traveled the country to interview coaches...so now as he is excepting the OSU job he can hire a better coaching crew..

Meyer is walking into a situation where he can come in and win. Braxton Miller is his type of QB and he can recruit with the best of them. Hate to be a FL fan right now.

I am viewing it as "Thanks for the 2 national titles and losing only 2 games to FSU, UGA, and Tennessee."

he is a liar, but he was our liar, etc.

Any Florida fan that is really that mad at him needs to examine the positive with the negative, even if the negative has validity. Sure he left the program in serious trouble with talent, gosh, down to 63 players on scholly, and most of them have not performed well for a 6-6 team, but the 2 national titles should far outweigh our current situation.

It really doesn't affect UF that much at all. If anything, it might hurt UT a little because this is another coach who is so well-known in Florida who willl come in and challenge TN for recruits in a talent-rich state, and in other states that UT recruits as well.
