It hurts. It hurts feeling like, for the first time in 10 years, we have the talent to dominate... And then to watch our team struggle. I hate it enough to make me write this post... But this is a 3-0 team that has all the tools to win and has a coach who has shown he is willing to do what it takes to win. So, here is what I choose to believe

I know you feel it. #1. We are potentially 1 player away from everything being very good. With an Oline worth a ****, we are a good offense. Yes, dobbs still struggles on some deep balls, but he has also shown a lot of good throws. The RBs are NFL guys and Malone is a marquee WR. Chance Hall's speculated return gives me hope. Get in there, CH, and change the attitude and confidence of this OLINE. We know they can play better because they did all year last year.... with the same coaching. Sometimes it just takes one player and a change in attitude. Fix this and you have a 21 point win over APP and a 30 point win over OH.

I know you feel it #2. The defense is, and will be, very good. Injuries are a concern and penalties are extending drives non stop. BUT--- They have played good, not great. And Shoop knows what he is doing. Even with Sutton and Kirkland out this is the best D he has ever had. He has proven he can turn talent into top 5 defenses... So, b**** about coaching all you want, I am not buying the fact that this isn't going to be a top 20 D this year.

I know you feel it dumb little girls 3. CBJ knows what to do. There are a lot of people on here who have never played competitive sports before at a high level, who aren't old enough to remember the glory days teams that also looked like **** at times... sometimes for multiple games, and who are level 1 thinkers as emotional as high school girls (08, fade, chat, many more). This will make no sense to you so stop reading. But CBJ has shown that he is incredibly smart and is willing to make tough decisions to win football games. He brought in Shoope and let go of S&C coach. When he recognizes something isn't good enough, he makes changes. End of story. I have a feeling that he is going to change the offense greatly for next week. At the end of the day, the Oline isn't executing, but they are big, fast, strong, and they can be effective if the scheme and attitude is right.

If I am wrong about this then I hope the negavols beat the **** out of me 9/25. But everything points towards changes being made.

I know you feel it...#4. Anomalies My biggest concern is how different this team looks from CBJ's other teams. Wit hthe other teams, we are special team monsters, penalty and turnover lite, over performing, fast starters.... And this year we are the opposite. Something has to give here. I hope that this is temporary. But if you fix penalties and mistakes alone, this team wins vs app and OH vs much more.

I know you feel it#5. Coach Speak. I follow UGA as well as UT... Maybe that's why I think UT fan's are so nuts... But at end of day, teams have to 'FIND THEIR IDENTITY'... this team hasn't but doesn't mean it won't. In 2007, UGA played like a top 35 team until the Vandy game... then it played like a top 5 team for the rest of the year.

STREAK ENDS NOW I KNOW YOU FEEL IT! #6. Florida has shown nothing. Look, if we were playing Alabama, I would be worried. But FL beat an 0-2 KY team that would have lost to App, VT, and OH. Can we stop acting like they are going to "Eat UT Alive?" Man, we are ready to eat them alive.

I know you feel it... #7 Click, click, boom! We aren't clicking, there is a lot of small things preventing 30 point wins. And it seems like we just need to fix one or 2 of them to get backGive our coaches and players, who have over performed for 3 years, a chance to fix it.

Guys, this is what it feels like to be a good football team. Sometimes you look like s*** but still win. And sometimes it takes 2, 4, 5, 6 games for a team to find its identity. Give our boys and coaches a chance. They are going to do it. Go Vols baby, go vols.

I still have faith in this team and these coaches. This fanbase will sing a different tune in 4 weeks. This is team 120. This isn't delusional...this is adversity and a team of men... We have depth that will step up. The coaches will make the right decisions next week. We roll Florida... I just feel it. Truly the only other time I had this feeling was Georgia last year...

It's funny, when the team is playing like hot garbage the only thing fans have to go on are feelings. You can't point to anything you've seen on the field as a reason why we will win, just that it feels like we will. When UF wins by 28 are you going to come back on here and post that your "feeling" was wrong?

Quite honestly I feel that the fans also need to step up and embrace this team and support them. It was absolutely DEAD in Neyland at times today just like against ASU. We as fans pride ourselves in being a factor in the game - we have not in any of these three games been a factor.

UF has not played well either.

Struggling in first game and coming out slow is forgivable...maybe even understandable with all of the preseason hype. But struggling against a terrible Ohio team..in the third game, and seeing zero adjustments to play calling. That's not forgivable...and it's a sure sign that this team is not ready to compete for championships of any kind.

The play calling in this game was nothing like ASU. If you can't see that then you were not paying attention.

Appreciate the optimism…but to me, this "isn't what it feels like to win…".

Anyone who was around to enjoy the program during the peak of Fulmer's tenure remember what it feels like to win, and dominate…except against Florida, of course.

This team doesn't invoke that same type of confidence. We've beaten 3 teams because we have better skill players than they do. IMO, our coaches haven't done anything to help the situation.

I hope I'm wrong, but at this point the 2015 season, with it's 4 losses by 17 points, might end up being the high-water mark for Butch's tenure here.

I heard some much deserved booing in the 3rd quarter...thought that was representative of the on-field product

I can only point to who they were last year... With very little change. If I'm wrong? Please call me out next Saturday. I'm man enough to admit wrong. I just think Florida is all that has been on everyone's mind from the jump. We all know our season will go one of two ways... That game carries so much weight and the team knows that.

this is not a good team, OC is too predictable, they have had 9 months to work on getting better.
next week is going to be tough without injuries, but uf D is gonna kick our olines ass, don't think we lose by 1 this year, probably much worse.
so I'll say it now, why wait til next week, you're delusional

Good post. I remember winning the 98 championship and every game feeling like I do right now. We're 3-0 folks. Just win.
