This is ridiculous. He has Cal his #1 one loss team and Tenessee as the #5 one loss team. Did the guy not see us play earlier this season. I've posted on it before and I know it doesn't amount to anything in the grand scheme of things and it will work itself out in the end. But I am tired of Cal getting more credit and love than us. The simple fact is we dominated them head-to-head and I thought thats what mattered.

Well the fact is that while they lost to us they have dominated ever since...we haven't- they have been solid and we have struggled at times.

Teams that the dominate = poo
Teams that we have "struggled" with = good teams

The teams that we have beaten would spank the teams that Cal has "dominated".

That's not true. You missed a .500 Washington team taking Cal to OT on Saturday... in fact, U-Dub led for most of the game, much like 'bama led for most of ours.

this isn't just Bob Davie...in checking around there a lot of "experts" that agree with him. from what i've read on various websites....TN is largely considered the 4th to 7th best 1 loss team.

main reason why, UGA has turned out to be not that good. we have one quality win against Cal, struggled against an Air Force team that has turned ot to suck, Bama is mediocre at best.

And Cal has by all rights looked very impressive against everyone they've played, except us and Washington.

Either way, it won't matter in the end when the season is over...either we'll win out with wins over Cal, ARK and LSU or we'll lose one of those and the debate will officially be over, or Cal Will win out with a win over USC...or they will lose to USC...either way, it will get validated one way or another.

It just goes to show that if you are going to lose, lose early to a good team....people have short memories and results don't matter much anymore...style does.

it's the same mentality that has pollsters voting us ahead of Florida or Florida ahead of Auburn....none of it makes any sense right now. the polls are trully a week to week thing. what did you do this week. no one cares what happened two months ago.

Cal just had to go to OT this past weekend to beat a 4-4 Washington team. Dominination?

Funny thing is when you read the national media stories about that game, Cal showed its greatness by pulling out that win. But the Vols are now suspect because they only beat Bama by 3. It's all about bending the facts to fit your perspective. Most of the national media have blessed Cal as the great Cinderella of this year and will look at them with rose colored glasses.

One other thing to consider here.......Cal still controls it's own destiny in the Pac 10 with a huge conf. show down still looming wiht USC.

Our problem is that our huge conf. showdown happened in Sept, and we lost it.

i think if TN and UF played in Oct/Nov and we were still undefeated with that game yet to play, the perception would be completely different.

As I and others have said on previous threads, we beat the crap out of Cal. Why doesn't actual play on the field worth more than some prognosticator's opinion. I guess thats why there is no playoff. Why do we even play the game at all, when the "experts" already know who is the better team.

I've seen a lot of "experts" and "average fans" saying because it was the first game of the season, it doesn't mean as much.

I think that's idiotic, considering the two teams had 2+months to get ready.

see my post above aobut the conf. standings and when those games are played. Cal has much more to gain in it's remaining schedule than we do.

and if Cal wins out, they will continue to be ranked ahead of us, and to boot, they will be the team with one loss in the best position to play for a National Title. The only way they start to look bad is if Oregon, Washington start to lose big to people they weren't supposed to...kind of like UGA losing to Vandy. If USC remains undefeated and Cal Beats them and USC beats ND...Cal is in prime position.

agree with many of the comments especially "terrible towel"...davie was pretty good coach if you check out everything that was going on at nd during his day, pretty ethical guy...but commentators are to make comments that get peoples attention, cant be namby pamby nice guy bser and stay on tube. as i was writing last week, look at cowherd, all over the big 10 and down grading sec today...as expected. it is their job to say things (and they all say, oh no i tell the TRUTH...yeah right, each week the TRUTH changes). great thing is play the games, let the vols speak on the field, the other crap will all work out. we had our shot, lost to fla. if we can win out fantastic. JUST beat spurrier and his cocks...go vols
