I know. Another qb thread. But I have a question for VN.

HB is the highest rated, would love to see him get a full shot. Mostly because he is unknown. Then Mauer of the three more or less known quantities. Then Shrout.
I agree withHB and then Maurer, but I have to stop with those two. We need to recruit a top QB every year and we get one about every 3/4 years.

Let’s hypothetically speak that all of the qbs can be fully developed, because they CAN if Pruitt chose to. My question is this:

Assuming YOU had your choice of the 4, which one would it be if/when he was fully developed? Please explain why with your pick.

JG
BM
JTS
HB

Just curious.

EDIT: If rank is all you know please refer to HS highlights for HB, BM or JTS since we’ve gotten such a small sample of the 3. That was the last time they were fully developed within their respective systems.
Putting all my time in on BM and HB
I start BM and keep HB beside me.

I want to see MUCH better QB play. Pulaski who seems to be scarce these days took a lot of personal shots at me for saying that and adding that I though JG was likely near his ceiling. JG has gone a long way toward proving me right this year.

I don't care who that much better play comes from. If the light miraculously came on for JG then I'd be satisfied.

I don't know what UT has in HB. We haven't seen enough. I don't think JG is capable of elevating his game much more or the team. Shrout in his 3rd year seems to still struggle with the basics of knowing and executing the play book. I believe Maurer is still very raw but has the potential to be a very good QB.

So IMO, you work with BM and HB and let the best man win. I think JG should become an emergency only option.

I would go with Harrison Bailey. I am concerned that Maurer keeps running into traffic. I certainly like his desire to get that extra yard, but I am not sure that is a workable plan, given his size, or lack thereof.

Sure. I'm not saying I prefer Shrout or JG, just listing them in order. JG is last for a reason.

Yeah and he did it again in the UA game (smh). I mean running head first into DL/LB. He has a habit of doing that. I admire his guts, but definitely question his wisdom (maybe even his sanity lol).

Kind of a dirty hit but apparently looked worse than it was.

PS- that's not a play HB can make for you.

I hope everyone is correct but:
#1 JP says JG practices the best?
#2 JP still thinks great defense wins in the SEC. Look what Bama did to a very good UGA defense.
#3 The SEC is now a great offensive game. LSU last year and Bama this year.
#4 The game has passed JP. He does not care or does not know squat about the offensive side of the game.

What? Running you mean? Mauer may be too small to run anyway though, is what most seem to think.
Define small. If I'm not mistaken he's 6'3" or 6'4" and weighs between 200-210. That's not "big" but it isn't "small" either.

Yes. HB is slow.

UT doesn't want him to run though. They want their QB to run when it is available or needed. His mobility helps most when he breaks the pocket and looks for receivers downfield. That's something that Maurer offers that the other 3 do not.

My greatest fear like yours is that he is susceptible to concussions. If he is then run or not... he'll eventually get hit and knocked out of a game. If it keeps happening then it will end his career.
