I have gone to Vol games for 75 years and this crew is the biggest bunch of losers, under performers, chokers and dumbasses I have ever seen.

4 plays in a row defined this team in the first hald

WR, either Matthews or Staley drops a pass on the 5

our FG kicker, the biggest chokder in the history of UT sports, misses a chip shot FG

First Illinois play Farok drops a sure int

Next play we get a dumbass PF penalty after the play, the second of the first half

Then in the dumbest play of all our 5th yr senior jumps offsides on 3rd and 6, late in the 4th quarter.

Josh is 8-6 in our last 14 games, he needs to get his fatass in gear.

Yeah your damn straight I am pissed. Being a medicore HS athlete i never criticized college guys until NIL and the portal came in. You guys want to get paid then how about performing. Especially you Max.

And before you ask I have given many thousands of dollars to the UTAD since 1972. But about 10 years ago switched to the Haslam College of Business.
Missed the players who opted out really badly- especially the defensive ones.
People can say what they want and have their opinions about opting out. Here’s mine: I think it is absolutely the most selfish, egotistic thing that a player can do. I wonder if they stop to think about where they’d be without a TEAM of players, coaches and staff who poured into them during their time at one of the most storied and winningest programs in the country: Tuition, room, meals, tutoring, special treatment, etc that nobody else gets.
That TEAM is going to play in a bowl game (I understand the sentiment that it might not hold the significance it once did, but it’s a game nonetheless), and the player should be on the roster helping them.
If you’re such a big pussy that you are scared you might get hurt in one game, then football and life might not be for you. That’s why I love the Army-Navy game so much. Those guys leave it on the field for each other and understand they might have to leave it on the battlefield later down the road and they still do it.
I understand it’s not the playoffs, but our guys crapped the bed last year in the playoff game, too. Don’t go on TV or do an interview talking about family, brotherhood, commitment, etc and then give your team, coaches, staff, and fan base the Irish goodbye because you’re so full of yourself that you forget that football is a TEAM sport. I don’t care what you came from. I’ve seen the families, ridden the bus with some of them to games. They get wined and dined and they ain’t hurting. It won’t hurt you to play one final game with your brothers- even if it’s just for a few plays to show your appreciation for a University that stuck out its neck for you and gave you so much.
It’s a shame that greed has gotten in the way of loyalty.
This game came down to the defense’s inability to get off the field, the lack of strength (mentally and physically) of our team, and a place kicker who, in my opinion, shouldn’t even be on scholarship. Hopefully, this new DC will come in and produce the kind of defenses that Tennessee has prided itself on in the past, and will recruit accordingly. Heupel needs to have a knot jerked in his ass by somebody in the administration because he seems to have regressed in terms of his fire and attitude. Got a good class signed and let’s see what happens with those players and this new DC. Gilbert needs a shrink and some competition at his position, because his lack of ability cost the Vols in several games this year.
It will take a few days for the sting to wear off this one. I was ecstatic after the KO return and felt like being in that cold stadium the whole time was gonna end up being worth it.
At least I got back to the house in time to watch the BasketVols win their game. Good thing about Tennessee is it’s a school that competes and wins in multiple sports- not like Clemson, where it’s football and nothing much else to cheer for.
I’ll be watching and anticipating the events of the next few weeks.

What are you talking about? None of us fans played. You're angry the coaches and players dont care about something that has become more like the orange and white game. If a team is not in the cfp, these are just scrimmages.
Tell that to Peyton Manning, Al Wilson, Dale Jones and if he was around Johnny Majors. They would mash your mouth if you told them something like that.

Talking to you Ernest T with your loser attitude and I don't drink. Wish you had played for my coach that was an All American in college. He would have ran you off if you didn't think a scrimmage was the most important thing happening that day. Know what he did to us? If someone went through the motions or performed half heartedly on a play he would call them out so everyone would notice and try his best to get them to fist fight him. He was a big fellow, too. This would be in practice. He always said if you didn't take practice or a scrimmage seriously then you wouldn't play on his team. Amazing how getting serious with a team scrimmage or a practice carries over to games and he knew that. I'm afraid today's generation is entitled and won't work for anything to better themselves. That starts at home under mommy and daddy (and we could say with our coaches) and then carries over into making it in life and the correct way to live in life.

You're talking to the wrong person. I tried as hard as I could sitting right here on my couch, but I just couldn't make the plays when they needed it. I tried like hell to and wanted to win but I was limited by my situation of not being a player or coach. Sorry, maybe I can try harder next time.

The team is undiciplined and lacks any leaders on the team. I was at the bowl game and there was no one on the sideline coach or player that was getting in anyone’s face and holding them accountable.
The players don’t respect Heup at all. I’m guessing he thinks any kind of yelling/on field discipline is gonna cause a transfer. It’s beyond time to hurt some feelings, ZERO discipline is what we’re seeing.

Its year 5. I've been on the Heup train 5 years, but he ain't it. He is an 8-9 win coach, but not elite. I don't like Kiffen but does anybody think he goes 8-5 in his 5th season?
With the new schedules, it’s possible. He won’t be able to schedule 3 cupcakes like he has at Ole Miss. He’s been an 8-4 coach his entire career. These last couple of years have been better, but I wouldn’t bet on him winning big at LSU with a 9-game conference schedule and another power 4 game required. He might win big, it’s possible but, based on history, he won’t.

I’m beginning to think it doesn’t really matter who the coach is here. For whatever reason, UT just isn’t able to attract the amount of quality players necessary to win big. At least I got to watch them win the last one in 98.

Army and Navy? The guys that are federal employees, that get a salary in addition to the normal scholly benefits, and that have guaranteed post-college employment? The guys that CANNOT opt out due to their military status?

Your post is a ridiculous fake equivalence.

Josh is getting exposed after his 5th year in the SEC. I trust my eyes just like I did with the other coaches…..this guy isn’t the coach to take the next step.
If he doesn't toughen up and make some adjustments to his philosophies/schemes, intensity and expectations of himself and his staff then you are correct. I hope he proves he can do that over the next year. If not, a change will be needed.
