I Knew Bleacher Report was Special, but...

35 BCS Programs We Can Guarantee Won't Be Going Bowling in 2012 | Bleacher Report

...this takes stupid to another level. Somehow this idiot claims six SEC teams are guaranteed to fail to make bowls, four of them from the East alone. I'm amazed that somehow the conference will fail to meet their bowl obligations for the first time since...ever.

Honestly its hard to say what the SEC will do this year. With an added conference game and one less cupcake you just never know.

The Bleacher Report people have been smoking some good s*** if they do not see how much talent we have and the potential for a solid season.

I like how these are guaranteed won't be bowling, but in the write ups say that they MAY go bowling if...

That DA needs to look up the definition of guaranteed.

35 BCS Programs We Can Guarantee Won't Be Going Bowling in 2012, By Joe Penkala

Joe doesn't even have the guts to say "I guarantee; he says "we guarantee", thereby includiing some unnamed others. But then he says...

This year, Bray looks to be back and healthy but the schedule continues to be rough and the Vols may be looking at another five win season.

"May have another 5-7 season" doesn't sound quite as convincing as 'We guarantee', so old Joe was apparently backtracking before he even finished his article.

Well you would still think they would want some sort of consistensy.

I normally won't even click on a link to BR. Their editorial oversight is less than ZERO, and they routinely print the dumbest imaginable stuff.

That said, the entry on Tennessee in this piece was beyond moronic. I mean, it's definitely possible that we could miss a bowl, but the reasons cited by the columnist all support the opposite conclusion. His only insignt seemed to be that all our key injured players from last season are back and healthy. How that supports a 5-7 conclusion is beyond me.

Of course the entire comments section is bashing him. The only one that is a "featured columnist" is this guy:

I think Vandy and Tennessee both make bowl games. Tennessee was very young last year. James Franklin is the right coach for Vandy.

He must not have looked at our schedule when he says our schedule "remains tough." Maybe he meant "remains tough by Big East standards."

What a douche!

Click on his name at the top of the article... looks like he needs to go back to writing articles on something he knows about - like a hot-dog or pie-eating contest...

Per his site he is from Detroit and is a Lion fan as well as an Oregon Duck fan, so I suspect he knows little about the SEC and is predicting based on last years results.
