Here in Florida 100% of the Florida fans, and 90% of the talking heads are picking UF. The only argument is the margin of victory.

The younger the Gator the bigger the margin of victory.

Warning to those going to Gainsville -- after we win stay off of Frat row!

No, I'm saying I'm not going to blindly talk about how UT will win all their games and assume my optimism will help them.

OK. We're talking about the UT-UF game in this one. I say UT will win because they are better prepared team based on competition, and they have a solid running game. The team that rushes for the most yards wins the game historically. We are also a much more disciplined team and penalties will impact field position. I have plenty of other reasons to be optimisitc going into tomorrow, but this should get it started.

Now, why do you feel "we aren't good enough to win"?

Not that I think we're gonna win, but I find it puzzling that there is so much talk about us not having a chance because it's in the Swamp. Weren't the last couple times we won in the swamp?

because our D was handled by a soft looking Cal squad.

I agree with you that the run game is strong, but UF will rape our defense.

Our defense has looked bad for one thing. We have had a hard time defending the option. We are going to be in a hostile atmosphere. Just to start out.

indeed, but it's most appropriate in the context of what shall be done to us at the swamp tomorrow.
SHALL be done? as in no options. That's crazy talk. UF is young and untested and their D could actually be worse than ours. They have homefield advantage and a huge (goes without saying) advantage on the sideline, but their QB is unproven while ours is a strength and we have some prayer of running the football. I agree that they should be favored, but it's not a foregone conclusion as it has been in the past.

All of that said, we did lose to a bunch of flower toting, p**sies (pansies thank you very much) in Berkeley.

what about tebow is unproven, exactly? he has been doing quite well enough this year and last year had a TD for every 6.7 yards he passed.

tebow has never, ever, no never had to make decisions or accurate throws as required by a defense with speed. Stats against a practice squad mean???????

When has he been asked to go win a game against a good football team?

but our defense has the speed of 2nd grade catholic school girls, so no worries, he'll be accurate enough.

It's funny. I'm optimistic about UT basketball, the Arizona Diamondbacks (and was at the beginning of the year), the Cleveland Cavaliers, and even the Tennessee Titans. But I'm not optimistic about the one team that has gone nowhere since 1998 and I'm a negative person. :good!:

So basically your saying that until they do something like win the SEC or a NC or BCS bowl game you will not be optimistic?? Hell I'm a Cubs fan and I'm optimistic every year about my team. Go talk to the Red Sox fans that went a lot longer without winning a World Series than UT did winning a NC and ask them how optimistic they were when the season started. Man if your going to root for UT then step up and root for them, if not then get the hell out and stop with the negativity and trying to ruin our optimism. Too many posters on here do that crap and its time it STOPS. Go be realistic, but I'm realistic that UT can win every game they play in if they play as a team no matter who is on it. BTW, your description you just gave about being fans of the teams you described, Arizona has one World Series title in the 10 years since UT's NC, the Cavs are just now starting to do good with Lebron and Cleveland didn't do crap for a long time before he got there, and the Titans had losing seasons 2 years straight and haven't made the playoffs since 03. So what's not to be optimistic about a team that has only had one year with a losing record in the past 10 years compared to the teams you just described?? Look bro, I'm not coming down on you or anyone else for that matter, but if our team had yours and some of the other attitudes on this board then we wouldn't have won crap last year. If one losing season (that we could have been 10-2) keeps you from being optimistic, well my friend I would actually question just how much of a fairweather fan you actually are.

we have myriad defensive issues, but speed is not one of them. Our big issues right now appear to be recognition of what offenses are trying to do to us and discipline.

I will piggyback on this. There is a difference between being negative and being able to look at what each team brings to the table. It doesn't matter how many of us have a positive attitude about the team. It will not affect the game itself. With that, if someone looks at each team and feels FL is better, then they have the right to make that pick. It's not necessarily negative.
Even the VOLnation posters who feel FL might win, will be screaming their arses off for UT on Sat at 3:30pm. Their objective view of the game will not matter at that point.

However, there are vol fans who feel Arky St will beat usand those fans can't be helped.

I want dirty play from our defense. Perhaps a good hard personal foul on Tebow to start the game. Set the tone for a hard hitting, physical ballgame. I want to see some fights and trash talking too. If you want sportsmanship, go join a bowling league. You gotta be mean to win the SEC.

Big T stands for TEBOW!!!!
I thought even idiots could generate more than a single thought. Apparently I was mistaken. It's not enough that this post is idiotic, but a copy of a previous post - now that's pathetic.

This is all crazy... I'm a huge Vol fan and I think that we are going to win every week-end...I know on any given Saturday anyone can lose (Michigan for example), but why would I get on my own team board and bash them....I think we may have some impostors on our Volnation board or some fans who haven't been around very long...I have been bleeding ORANGE (VOL ORANGE) for a very long time...Sorry we have fans that don't believe every Saturday no matter what...:dance2:
