I agree. For heaven's sake, the economy is in the tank, there are wars going on, people are getting put out of their houses . . . I love college football as much as the next guy but let's keep things in perspective.
I can't hardly stand to read this board any longer. I am terribly disappointed in the team's performance but it's just silly to stomp your feet and hold your breath like a child denied a cookie.
I have season tickets but am lucky enough not to have to donate. I do invest several hundred dollars in extra expenses each time I make a trip to the Hill from Memphis. But I don't feel like that gives me the right to act like a jerk and treat the players and coaches as if I own them and they are my indentured servants.
I had a fun day Saturday, spent some wonderful time with my kids before and after the game. Yes, the game was a bummer but I went and had a nice dinner afterward and was unscathed except for a small blister from all the walking.
Many of the players on the other hand are beat up and bruised, and I bet some of them are in whirlpools right now nursing sprains and other injuries. Their coaches have to have serious concerns about job security at this point. So, I'm sorry if they all let some of you down. But I refuse to boo them. That's not how my dad brought me up as a football fan.
odd question here, but did you post assuming that no one would read what you read, or did you post assuming everyone would see your opinion? Surely you know that the opinion you posted adds nothing whatsoever to the discourse here at VolNation, so why add it?What have I done? I moved it from the seventh thread down to the first thread.
Oh no, I did it again!

what was the purpose of your post?Yes, but my point was that this thread itself adds nothing to the "discourse." We already had a thread that was basically the exact same thing as this one, posted by Hat after a bad loss. I think it was called "Vindication."
I'm not sure of the value in continuing to have "I was right and everyone else was wrong" threads in the same way that "Fire Fulmer" threads are no longer useful. I can think of no argument on either subject that hasn't already been made. It doesn't mean I disagree with either sentiment.
and what was the utility in your post, besides drawing attention to yourself?I'm not sure how it is still unclear, but I was commenting on the utility, or lack thereof, of making a point that has already been hammered home to death.

It's not as if you're the first to make that point either. In fact, it's very reasonable to assume that you're adding fuel to the fire.
i have to take a shot a utvolpj because he will never admit he was wrong. he is the die hard fulmerite and has been very condensending when i have said for the last 5 years fulmer needed to go. i was right, but he is not man enough to admit it. he always takes a personal shot at me so i'm calling him out, are you man enough to admit you were wrong, i don't think so. he is apart of the problem. The statements in this post are true only if Mike Hamilton and UT boosters are the "alot of people on this site." Criticizing Vol fans for being fans and having hope is ridiculous. I've wanted Fulmer gone too but I'm not going to be smug about the fact that our program is in the tank just to make myself feel smart about being able to spot the obvious. It's time for a change but I think Fulmer needs to stay for a short while longer. We need to have a good year recruiting for us to have any kind of shot in the near future. We have a good thing going with our new offensive staff and that will be destroyed by getting rid of Fulmer. We need to handcuff Fulmer and force him to get rid of Chavis. The new DC and Clawson can compete for the right to replace Fulmer in a few years.

true, but it is hard not to be alittle upset when this guy has been blasting everything i have said over a 2 year span. not to mention i turned out to be right and him wrong. he also always takes personal shots.
