I hope the Bajakian hate is going to die down now

I want to preface this by saying I know we are not the New England Patriots. Their game against KC was the worst I had ever seen Brady perform. He was running for his life amid multiple missed assignments and blitzes. The next week, he had a solid "Tom Brady" game, and it was noted that NE used a double TE set on the OL the entire game, due to inexperience and youth, to help with blocking schemes. Serious question to those that know more than me about this: could this set help our line? Are our 2 or 3 TE's too young to learn it? Is Butch's not complimentary to this set? Just curious what others think.

Think it definitely would help..Wolf isnt a good blocker but Helm and Downs are..Haven't figured out why we go empty backfield so much, every team knows its a pass and there is nobody back to help protect Worley.

Coaches aren't perfect. None are. Watch nfl today at horrible playcalls and decisions. Watch nfl linemen whiff. Rewatch the bama game and see saban errors nearing a dozen for the game. In. Every. Game. Played.
Butch makes mistakes. Bajak wishes he had those drives vs Florida back but guess what, if Worley keeps the ball like he did yesterday, we win even with the problems.

That doesn't discount starting 18 yr olds at rg, rt, te on the same side, and an inexperienced rg playing LT now. They all have to do better. Blaming 100% on coaching is stupidity.

I completely understand what Volcula is saying. Atleast I think. This is MY point of view, and if it's similar then I guess I'm agreeing with him.

We all know our OL suck this year. There's just no way around it. Can't even block Chattanooga and that's just a whole new level of bad. Yes they are young and inexperienced, but are making zero progress. The play calls could be blamed on them, except...

I remember last year all too well. "One of the best lines in the country" and "we had more rushing yards than in forever" and guess what. Every single game I remember "why are we running this offense when Worley won't keep the ball", "these runs plays develop so slow", "do we have a pass that's not a bubble screen", ad nauseum...

Yes they were better than this years line (even though at the time they were called out for being soft, i guess now you see how much worse it could get) BUT te play calling still sucked. Still the same exact crap on the field we've seen this year. Don't blame the wide receiver talent. I don't want to hear an excuse for poor south alabama requiring an interception in the end zone just for us to get lucky enough to win. Butch has a bad habit of playing not to win.

Do you not immediately see the schedule difference in your UK example?

I am talking about SEC schedule mostyl and the offense.. UK played UF way better and in the swamp. They were up and down all day on the UF defense and beat a SC team that beat a GA team we lost to.

Blaming it 100% on players is also stupid

Agreed?

So did Stoops at UK and they are tied atop the SEC East and one win away from being bowl eligible already. How can they be further along than us? Look at Arky they should have beaten Ala and A'M and played AU even for 3 Qtrs..you can't tell me Arky and UK were in better positions than us two yrs ago..and Miss St is drilling everyone with mostly 2* and 3* players.I'm not down on Butch at all, I think he is doing a great job but the only team that we have looked better than this yr in the SEC is Vandy. We are.aren't gonna beat Ole Miss or Ala so Kentucky, Mizzou and SCe are games we need to win atleast 2 of, which are possible with 2 of those being home games. How we give up 5-6 sacks against Chatt will forever boggle my mind.

Who is saying Kentucky is further along than us? They have beaten one team And that is SC.

I think we should wait and compare UK and UT until they have played common opponents.

They did not play UK way better.

They beat a USC team that collapsed to Mizzou at home.

They have one legit win, USC.

Yes

We should revisit some of those threads for a better perspective

Do you guys believe that with a more experienced line, we will open up the playbook more, or will we continue to see the basic packages we have seen?

Not sure if this is what you were looking for, but Brock Huard (of all people) had a nice quote about hated Bama yesterday that opened my eyes a little. He said they used to walk to the line, tell you where they were going to run, and dare you to stop it. They don't have that type of talent up front to do that anymore. I think we can run these plays successfully with the right talent and experience. We just don't have that yet.

UT would be no worse than 4-2 if they had play UK schedule.

I a, just not ready to anoint UK as being a good team until they play every one in the East.

Atleast they put more than 9 points on Florida... Atleast they have beat South Carolina. Oh USCe sucks, you say? They beat Georgia. We couldn't pull any of them out.

We don't know what kind of scheme Bajakian will run when his offense becomes consistent enough to follow a solid game plan. You read so much about "schemes" when the line is simply trying to master blocking skills. Thats classic "cart before the horse mentality."

Solid post.

I still have questions about Bajakian and Mahoney has crept into that discussion for me as well.

Last time I checked UT beat USC last year and have not played them this year and would have made you feel better if we had scored 20 against FLA and still lost?

A loss is a loss whether you score 1 or 100.

And please find the post where I said USC sucks if not please do not put words in my mouth.

Maybe we should wait till the end of the season for these comparisons....we beat SC last yr when they were a top 10 team .....Kentucky managed to put up less points on Vandy than UMASS and an FCS school.

Yes. Yes I would've felt a lot better! We didn't score a single touchdown in that game. That is pathetic.

I said they played UF way better better offensively, and yes they did. A soph QB threw for almost 400 yards and UK almost doubled our yardage and they did it in the swamp and we did it on one of the largest and most hyped crowds in a long time!

Of course. But do you think you have those same questions with experienced Jrs and srs along the line with Jr tight ends, Hurd as a Jr and a qb that will tuck the ball?

I don't know. I do know if we had/have all that and the offense looked like this, I'd start the petition.
