I hope Dooley is the coach next year!

1995–1997 – Beginning in 1995, Saban moderately improved MSU's fortunes, taking the Spartans to minor bowl games (all of which they lost by double-digit margins) in each of his first three seasons. From 1995 to 1997, Michigan State finished 6–5–1, 6–6, and 7–5. In comparison, MSU had finished 5–6, 6–6 and 5–6 (prior to NCAA forfeits) in 1992–1994.
  • 1998 – On November 7, 1998, the Spartans upset the No. 1 ranked Ohio State 28–24 at Ohio Stadium. However, even after the upset and an early-season rout of then-highly-ranked Notre Dame the Spartans finished 6–6, including three last-minute losses featuring turnovers, defensive lapses, and special-teams misplays, and failed to earn a bowl invitation

Don't you think the tennessee job is harder

hey look back saban was a head coach before bama so was miles and so was pete carroll what if those schools was patient thats all im saying

Ummm no. Best analogy I can bring to this, is an oil well fire. Sometimes, you can let it burn itself out and all will be ok. But sometimes, it is so bad you have to use explosives to blow it out, just like John Wayne did in the movie Hellfighter. We need a John Wayne and we need his arse asap!

Hey this is the SEC. In year two you are expected to start competing for championships in this conference. All those other schools that those coaches were at did not have the same goals as GA,FL,AL,AU,LSU,TN. Coaches are given the number one facilities, the number one recruiting budget, the number one salaries, the number one assistants, and are expected to be competing for number one!

Hey OP..... Dooley has not won anywhere.

Why will UT be any different?

I still don't get why people say this. I guess its just the "in" thing right now. I'm not at all satisfied with where we are and it must get better but CDD did take La Tech to its 2nd bowl win ever, 1st since 1977. That may not seem like much but that's a pretty good accomplishment for that program. Not trying to compare UT to a WAC team at all. He's on a bigger stage now and must step it up.

Granted they fell off in 09 with a team decimated by injuries but to say he hasn't won anywhere just isn't true. Also, about half the contributing players for La Tech this year were recruited by Dooley.

He also has a 2003 NC ring but he wasn't head coach so we wont count that. :)

I know I'm the only one that wants this but I really hope Dooley is the coach next year and I believe he will be. Just so he can prove every last one of you wrong. Nothing would thrill me more than listen all the wonderful people on volnation b**** and complain for another season because everyone on here is so knowledgeable about football, the university of tennessee, everybody knows every donor, not to mention have all the inside information and hell y'all still believe that Gruden is going be our blessed coach. I really don't even know why I waste my time. Go Coach Dooley! Go VOLS!!!

HEL* YES I HOPE SO TO...DOOLEY WINS OUT AND SAVES HIS JOB...TALL ORDER only 2 SEC wins this year and he's gone

been thinking about this a bit..what IF Kiffin hadnt left after the 2009 season and was still here?? Would UT be better or worse off?? Would winning improve a few games each year? What about recruiting?? Lots of "what ifs".....thoughts?

I hope Dooley is here next year also! Hopefully, that means that we finished 2012 admirably and won a bowl game along with securing a top 12 recruiting class. I think Sunseri and Dooley need another year to work on or fill in the talent gap on defense.
No pass rush and weak secondary is killing this team more than anything else. Dooley/Offensive staff has shown they can put an offense together that can run/pass the ball along with being able to recruit players to their system. We need two stud corners, a Jack/dynamic LB and a elite pass rushing d linemen by next fall for this defense to be successful.

In answer to the thread title--Why wait till next year or next month? I hope Dooley is gone by next week. Just listening to Dooley pisses me off. Better yet I hope Dooley is gone by tomorrow.
