I hope Chaney has a game plan

I would not try to throw quick slants and screens because I think their whole game plan will be to shut down the run. I think they will put 8 men in the box to do it. If you try to throw quick slants then you will be doing it in a very congested area which means if the ball isn't right on or tipped and not caught by the receiver then its an interception. 8 in the box means screens get shut down.

I really have no idea if the Fla defense is in as bad as shape as they are saying. Which receiver has showed you the ability to catch the quick slants in traffic other than JJ...
Do you think our receivers can get separation ? It would be ideal to try some hitch and go, fly routes or throw some seam routes which I think is JG's best throw.
If the Vols cannot run then its going to be a long day at the office for the Vols unless they can pull off another Auburn type game

I dont think we will be able to run at first. Fla will stack the box And dare us to throw. If we pass first and complete passes it will then open up the running game. But can we do it?

Only chance we got. I agree
Yeah fl is expecting us to run. They'll gameplan against our strengths. The coaches know they need to open up the passing game. It was mentioned in yesterday's practice thread and Pruitt mentioned it on vol calls last night.

Chaney is a good OC and he has a “plan”. Probably not the plan that he wants to run however.

Pruitt needs to limit Chaney’s breakfast calories, so he doesn’t get sleepy at noon in the booth

I have a strange feeling that JC will call some run & pass plays. I could be wrong and the game plan could be Jennings in the wild dog running the option. So many possibilities to choose from.

To be fair, they changed the rules of football so Brady wouldn't get hit. If he got hit half as much as JG, or say Ben Rothlessberger, He'd would have retired long ago.
Only because crybaby Brady b****ed to the commissioner about the rules so they changed just for him....that’s a load of s***!!!! I wish he was retired already. It’s bout time the NFL got rid of his crybaby a**!!!!

Be glad it's an early game Saturday...because after the 1st quarter I can imagine a lot of people will be hitting the roads and malls to enjoy the rest of the day
Unless of course someone on the staff comes up with the brilliant idea of putting Shrout or BM in the game
If it’s 21-0 after 1 quarter a lot of the TN fans at the game will leave. If it’s a rout by halftime then half the Gator fans are gone by 3rd quarter...

To deal with the heat the Gators are going to bring on Guarantano. He doesn't like to be hit and they know it.Last year we were clearly not ready and it looked like a jailbreak.
Quick slants,a few screens, somewhat of a running game would do wonders.Come on Chaney, earn your money and come up with a plan that works. We can beat these guys.
Glad you pointed out this very unique trait of Jarrett. Sure makes him different because clearly all other quarterbacks just love getting hit and it really changes how defenses play them. Great point

Edit: let me also add that of all the things you could criticize JG for right now, you actually pick the one that has virtually no validity to it. I’ve rarely, if ever, seen a qb as willing to stand in the pocket and take a hit (oftentimes to a fault) as Guarantano has shown to be.

We won that game due to 3 Auburn turnovers. JG was good but mainly threw up 50/50 balls and got lucky.
Do what? JG was SEC and national offensive player of the week vs Auburn last year because he played an outstanding ballgame. As was noted and shown on replays during the broadcast several times, he was very accurate with several backshoulder throws....he wasn’t just lucky with throwing 50/50 balls.

In addition to those throws he also hit some excellent skinny post routes, threw some very good passes to the boundary, and hit Chandler on a seam route out of the backfield for a touchdown.

See, you guys have plenty to criticize him on this year, right now, but your dislike for him keeps you from being able to help yourselves. You lose credibility when you complain about a QB’s performance who won recognition for literally being the best offensive player in the country that day.
