I disagree, we may not have the best talent but neither did Auburn or UCLA. Not like we have been losing to USC and Oklahoma the past couple of weeks.
So you think it will be even worse? I'm thinking that we beat Miss State, Wyoming and manage to get at least one from SC, Kentucky and Vandy.

I guess the only question remaining is, can Fulmer survive a 4-8 or a 5-7 season.

I don't fully buy the no-talent theory. There have been many-a-year around here where that has been said, only to have about 8 guys drafted the following April.

I remember when we had David Martin, Jason Witten, Eric Parker, Cedric Wilson, Hannon (talent?), etc and some of those types and people said the same things. They "couldn't win those outside matchups" against Vandy but somehow managed to get open against NFL defenses.

There are not 75 college teams with better talent across the board than our offense.

I agree with most of this. On a side note, where on earth have you been Liper? I had totally forgotten about you.

Oh it is bad, I just disagree with his ceasing of criticism. The coaches shoulder tons of blame, this is just not some no talent issue.

We will lose to Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Alabama, and maybe even Miss State.

The sad thing is that I think there is a whole other level that this is going to go to if we get hammered by UGA and Alabama in the next few weeks.

promise I will not criticize the football team or staff again the rest of the season. They're simply not any good. Ripping them for failing to play competent football is akin to berating a quadrapalegic for not winning a triathalon.

Believe me I am well aware of your infamous ignore button.:hi:

So you'll be starting the basketball season Earlie.:)

Believe me I'm not seeking a loss of stones here, but do you have that much control.

I'm already impressed. But if you pull this of it will be akin to god-hood!

Good luck.

If we get hammered? I'm afraid thats almost a certainty. NIU is #91 in the country, Alabams is #2.

There are some bad times ahead. This offense is barely averaging 10 points a game over the past 3 games. Ugh.

I think we win 5 (MSU, Wyoming, Kentucky - just because they're Kentucky)... and maybe some how Phil pulls out a victory of Vandy and saves his job with 6 wins and a bowl win if we get picked up with 6 wins.

Would make me sick if that saved his job - but wouldnt be surprised at all.

yup a win over Tn tech in the windshield wiper bowl would make a huge statement for him now.:)

This was one of the saddest wins in UT football history. It would be a better win if we lost by 100 points to a team only to find out later that the team had played an ineligible player and had to forfeit.

Other than an unwinding of the collective best-case scenario, looks like 5 wins might be the ceiling for this bunch.

It's quite possible we have seen our last win this year, unless they play entirely different from what I have seen so far.
