This is exactly why mine is October 1, 2011. Not only that, it was my fiance who looked up the schedule then came to me and said October 1st is the bye week lets do that. Even though she's a WKU alum its still that important to her to not miss seeing a game. :rock:

I was a groomsman in one of my best friends weddings last year during the bama UT game and I missed the last three quarters and was tracking the score on my phone the whole time during pictures and right before I escorted a bridesmaid and I WAS MISERABLE!!!!! DON'T GO MAN IT WAS THE WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE!!!! I also prayed for a night game, but of course it didn't happen so good luck hopefully you will be luckier than I was if you decide to go.

At least you aren't getting married on UF gameday like myself. Had no choice. Would skip out on it but I really doubt that anybody else would have me. She at least considered me though, we're doing it around noon so I won't miss it.

i was the best man at a wedding held during the 07 tenn/cal game. i was less than happy about that.

i'm getting married july 31st and made it clear that under no circumstances will i get married during the football season. it's just having common courtesy.

My wife's best friend pulled this same crap several years ago. Luckily the reception was at the Holiday Inn in Bristol. I stayed in the lobby watching the game UT beat Bama.

My son was born Sept 12 last year. She knew that missing the game was out of the question. I told her that a 4 hour window was not unreasonable. Obviously, my boy wanted to see the game too as he showed up about 12 hrs before kickoff.

Heck...I'm a woman and even know you don't schedule a wedding in the middle of a football game. 1.) That's what spring is for and 2.) That's the way I was brought up. I'm hoping the man I marry gives me a medal for this.

A few years back I was at the UT/bama game and the older fellow sitting next to me had an empty seat.

He told me that he and his wife had been to every UT/bama game together until she died. They had been married 46 years.


I asked him why he didn't just ask one of his family to join him at the game this year but he said.........

None of them could some, they're all at the funeral.

sorry................. couldn't resist.

I got married in October of '04 and I had my wedding on a Friday there are six other days in the week besides Saturday.

My husband and I were married at the end of November as soon as football season was over. No way would I have been married on a football Saturday! I'm a bigger football fan than my husband is so it would have upset me more than him to have gotten married on a football Saturday.

Trust me, GO watch the game! I missed a FL/TN game one year because of my sister's wedding, and it was one of the few FL games we won. So don't be like me and let it eat you up inside for the rest of your life!
