Unless it's YOUR wedding, you don't have to do a damn thing.

...and even if it were your wedding, I would still contemplate skipping it.

Eff the friggin wedding. Once you have been to one you have been to em all!
PS. What kind of a person schedules a wedding on such a day. They need their heads checked... I have always thought this sort of thing was a sin frowned upon by the mightiest of gods.

Photograph him with a stripper at the bachelor party. Have the photos delivered right before kickoff to the bride with lipstick kisses and a note saying "you were the best I ever had."

This should buy you at least a few hours to watch the game.

You've got plenty of time to remind the couple concerned that 50% of marriages end in divorce and the other 50% end in death.

I can't believe your actually thinking about going. I don't care if its your best friend from Kindergarten.

I got married during last football season, I made it a point to make sure it was during the Memphis game since the bye week was not an option.

Aren't bye-weeks for weddings in the fall?

The only redeeming factor is that they did take the football schedule into account when setting the date. The bride - not even the groom but the bride - is a big fan of her ACC alma mater and would never get married on one of their gamedays. This was their bye week. So I at least respect her decision-making process. Unfortunately, it's the wrong team.

It doesn't bode well for whoever is getting married. Their marriage is now cursed...

That is a redeeming factor. Now you can say that surely you can respect me not being able to attend as that is the third Saturday in October.

If she were more considerate, she would have not scheduled during football season at all.

That's why we got married in April, and we live in San Diego where nobody cares about college football

If she won't miss her own wedding for a powerhouse ACC game, then she should completely understand why you wouldn't be there.

I got married in '98 on the Saturday of the Syracuse game. Away game, long weekend, seemed like a good choice.

My wedding was delayed 15 minutes because the game went long. My bride was pissed because I had a TV and she only had a radio....

Good thing that Jeff Hall made that kick or it might have gotten ugly. Don't know if we could have gotten hitched on a day that UT lost (her words).

Our wedding video shows everyone filing into the church at the last minute because they were in their cars listening to the game.

Ah good times....
