I have to admit, this is encouraging

Especially considering Saban, Pruitt, and Kirby live by the same coaching philosophies, it clearly takes at least a year to learn. This was 2016, Kirby’s first year at UGA, and this Ole Miss team finished 5-7

Not to mention Kirby came into a true stacked house. Anybody writing Pruitt off at this point has no knowledge of the game.

Yep, also a very good point. I think Pruitt’s system is complicated and we just flat out had a ton of confused players yesterday. Putting that against as potent of an offense as WVU is a pretty clear-cut recipe for 40-14. Time will fix that.

That’s why I hate all the Kirby Smart/Saban comparisons. Kirby took over a team that had ten wins the season before, Saban took over Alabama and as bad as I hate to say it, that school recruits itself. We need to let this thing play out before we start head hunting.

I’m disappointed he’s not on the new Dr Peoper commercials. Nice to see Boz and Miles

With the dbs it just seemed like more of an inability to jam receivers coming off the line and play man coverage. Everyone says that the biggest change a player experiences when progressing through various levels of the game is the quickening of the tempo. Maybe the freshmen just weren't ready for the speed of the game. Pruitt said that some of the breakdowns were anticipated bit the players needed to learn.

There are no similarities, the talent gap is significant.

They have talent. Ours is vastly overrated.
There’s a reason we had only one player on the top three pre season All SEC teams.
That means of the top 66 players (33 offense/33 defense), we only had Trey Smith.
We just don’t have the talent.

We just might have a few in the two-deep at the end of the season, though.

Go Vols.

After our coaching search, Pruitt is here at least 4 years - most likely 5 - so peeps better put on their big boy pants and learn to accept that it’s going to take a 5-7 or 6-6 kinda year to start moving in the right direction. If Butch’s problems could be fixed in one Fall camp then he shouldn’t have been fired in the first place.

He’s our guy now. Either he brings in top 5 classes and turns this around in 2-3 years, or its 10-15 ranked classes and 4-5 years minimum to turnaround. We have to cycle out the garbage.

Grier fit some balls into some really tight windows. As much as I wish he would have flopped, he flourished. We definitely could have made some plays if we turned around and looked for the ball, but we were there a lot and they still made the play. Maybe one day we will have a secondary that can stop that.

I saw a lot of good yesterday and still believe that 7-5 is the floor.
I’ll have what your smoking, please.

7-5 is the ceiling
I’m hopeful for the best, I just thing as bad as it was...... and is this will take time.

Florida
SC
KY
MO
And Vandy

Sure they might win some of those, but from what we know and have seen not sure how they could pick up 4 out of 5...... it would be like running the table against everyone you can even compete against......and not sure yet Tennessee can compete vs all of those, let alone run the table.
