I have no words for Jennings.

This has to be one of the best gif descriptions ever posted....

A throwback. One of the toughest, most determined kids I’ve ever seen play the game of football...

A true UT legend..

I concur. Younger fans will not understand the analogy, but Jauan Jennings plays like Larry Csonka would have if he had been a wide receiver. He simply refuses to be tackled.

Three receivers over 100 yds. But, I'll give JJ his due. He's a baller.

Yes, that was the first time in Tennessee football history that we have had three receivers eclipse 100 yards in the same game and only the eighth time that a Tennessee quarterback threw for more than 400 yards. And how long has it been since we have seen Tennessee complete so many passes that gained more than 20 yards? More than I can count off the top of my head.

Absolutely on two fronts.... defender dropped his head and made contact with the crown of his helmet AND his primary point of contact was Jennings head. I was screaming at the tv and that candyarse Rogers to sthu since both announcers were fawning over how jj got rocked by a man. Never once mentioned it was targeting. How the upstairs replay didn’t at least stop play to review is beyond me...
JJ showed what kind of dog his is and definitely gave his all for Tennessee today.
Agree 100% the truth of the matter is Tennessee gets no respect, we never get the calls!!! We’ve got to do what the great Pat Summit said, she said you’ve got to beat your opponent and the refs!!!

Still stunned Mr "you cant tackle me" got smashed and stopped dead in his tracks at the goal line like that. That was surreal to see. Cant remember if that was before or after the TD where he broke 3 tackles including from the same defender twice.

That was one heck of a hit. Likely knocked the snot out of JJ. But he got up...

Well, there were four pass interference penalties imposed on Missouri. Had the same offenses been committed by Florida cornerbacks, it probably would have been a different story, particularly if the game was played in the Swamp.

JG completed 23 passes, for 415 yds. That is 18 yds per completion. So 20 yard completions were the norm, on Saturday.

One of if not the biggest bad arses I’ve ever seen at wide receiver.

Dude just owns whatever field he walks on.

Ultimate Vol conundrum...., could Al Wilson tackle Juaun Jennings?

Btw, JJ’s dad is in the UNiv of North Alabama sports Hall of Fame. Good DNA

The helmet to helmet hit by #32 for Mizzou at the goal line with JJ was a clean hit. No crown and no launching nto a defenseless player. I believe that youngster is a LB and not a DB. That guy was all over the field I can tell you that. By the 4th quarter he became 2 steps slow but I respect his game. Anybody that can keep JJ out of the end zone at the 1 inch line deserves respect.

That was targeting by rule. If they don't call that then there should be serious discussion about removing the crap rule of targeting. The rules should be enforced the same across the board for all players not just QB and receivers

Yes there was some clashing of helmets on that play, but man that was old school football and I’m glad they kept the flags in their pockets. I think it’s the hardest head on collision I’ve seen all year. Pretty sure both guys saw stars. JJ got up and grinned and kept going at um. JJ is our hero but that line backer was a bad dude to. All in all I felt like the refs did a pretty good job last night.

I agree was a good hit. But if we are going by the rule of targeting and we have listened to that idiot Matt Austin over and over tell us that is textbook targeting then call it.

Not to be argumentative...but targeting may not be in play because he was a runner and not defenseless or completing a catch.
Its the internet of course you want to be argumentative... I love to argue lol. For the purposes of this discussion I will emphasize the elements that existed with JJ and hypothetically would apply to a offensive lineman or tight end blocking as well a defender.
1rst point: Here's what you have to remember if a player makes contact anywhere on another player with the crown of his helmet its a penalty and IMO the defender initiated contact with the crown and slightly right side of his helmet on JJs helmet. There is NO requirement for defenseless player (that's covered in Note 2) separately.
2nd point: Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area it can be a targeting penalty with a launch, lowering the head, a crouch and thrust et al. I also believe the defender did this.
I can give you additional details from the actual NCAA rulebook but that's the cliff notes version. IMO they could have called targeting on JJ OR the defender cause both dropped their heads but rarely is it called on the offensive player. In retrospect and looking at the play several more times on my DVR, that's the only thing I could see for not even stopping to take a look it is it was a foul on both players so what's the point?
I guess kind of like obvious pass interference on both offensive and defensive players usually result in flag not being thrown.

Just glad JJ is good to go and I'll be there to see him torch vandy i hope. GBO!

I will just say that I saw no problem with the play. Was good old fashioned football play. My problem and most fans would like consistentcy in calling this penalty.

Been a fan since as long as i can remember, grew up with my blood running orange. I have seen some great players. Jennings is one of my favorite, from burning tez tabor, to silencing dog nation in a matter of seconds. You always expect something awsome when he gets the ball. Watching jennings makes it easy and fun to be a VOL.

My daughter's first memory of the Vols was CBS's Gary yelling JAUAN JENNINGS!! when he caught the Dobb Nail Boot pass against UGA. As a Vol living in GA, that qualified him for the hall of fame in my eyes. He's been a leader we needed this year, and I hope he continues to do great things. But I love Callaway, too, as he grew up only 20 miles from my house.
