And your job as "Gator Fan" is to be delusional, in denial that what you think of as a little league coach took a patched together team begat to him from the pumpkin to "the school to the south" and gave them all they wanted. If not for Tebow, we would've won this year. I guess at halftime the game was never in doubt either, right? You are pathetic.
I'm sorry what did Kiffin back up again? His bold statement that he would do everything he could to try and make the score look respectable but still lose? If thats what he said then I retract, he did back up his talk.

Stop by here from time to time, but haven't posted before. Obviously the whole back and forth has kept the UF/UT game a little more interesting, even post game.
A couple of observations I'd share as a Gator alum who has been to a number of UF/UT games, including seeing us get beat in Knoxville in '92 - still had a great time up there.
1) CLK has made the Vols more interesting and relevant, period.
2) The tone however of this series has become a lot less respectful by some, and I personally don't really enjoy that part of the rivalry.
3) We have some guys with the flu right now. I don't think we should have talked about it, but it was brought up and it is the truth. If 3 guys make that big of a difference in the score of the game, then the Gators don't have much depth. I don't think it was a huge factor in the game, and should have just been left alone. (although I don't think it's really an excuse after a win.)
4) the talent gap -- I think anyone familiar with this rivalry knows the gap is thin and both teams have had ups and downs. UF has had a nice run, and CLK has done a good job of getting some big recruits. Uf won the national title in 2006 and beat UT by 1. Anyone who thinks this game is ever a foregone conclusion is crazy. I knew that before this game.
5) Coach Kiffin would probably get a lot more compliments for this game if people liked him. Sorry, but did anyone really expect a lot of compliments for him? You gotta get used to that if he's your coach. (take it from us) But, neither side should think that every fan is a spitting image of your coach, with the same opinions and attitudes. I loved Spurrier, but I wasn't really that high some of his antics from time to time.
6) We're not afraid of Tennessee. We know they are capable of beating us, and the 3rd week in September is always huge, but afraid? We should quit the SEC if we're afraid of good teams, too many of them in this conference.
7) Tennessee has a great D. Monte just makes it better. I can't root for the guy all these years with the Bucs, including a Super Bowl win and all of a sudden say he's no good. Monte could be your biggest asset.
8) Hopefully next year the game will be about the game with some usual banter. The "this has to be a blowout factor" of this year's game was ridiculous. I don't go into any game thinking we've got to blow this team out. Vandy, Kentucky, Miss State, etc. Maybe the Troys and Charleston Southern games, but no way any legitimate opponent. We beat Vandy by a TD when we won the NC in '96, won two games by 1 point in 2006. I'm sure the Vols felt big time disrespected before the game on Saturday, and they played tough, partly because of it in my opinion.
9) feeling good about your coach and your team is half the battle, so it is good to see the fans believing in the Vols again up there. It's not our job to throw a bucket of water on that. So good luck the rest of the way and we'll see you next September.
I can't figure out why all you vol fans think that the Florida players and coaches came out ad said "Hey vols, we're going to hang 100 on you." That never happened. The fans wanted a big win, no doubt. The media was predicting a big win, but Meyer and the gators never said a thing about it. You all think UF struggled and pulled out all the stops just to win by 10. The gators literally ran less than 1/4 of the play book. They didn't even try to go down field because they didn't need to. And now oh no! Monte Kiffin gave everyone a blueprint to stop the gator offense. Florida rushed for over 200 yards and hardly even passed the ball. Kiffin was out-coached, and UT was out-played.
The point is that the gap between the 2 programs has shortened considerably. NO! They have none of it.
Why should we have any of it? Your program is celebrating a loss and the Gators, fans and the media at least, are pretty down about a win. Has the gap shortened that much? Tennessee's defense is good and their offense is mediocre. Wasn't that the case last year as well?
You are no different than any other UF fan that thinks a 10 point win is everything they've been clamoring about since the day Kiffin arrived. You all wanna point out the Raiders and Kiffin this and Kiffin that.
Fact is, an extremely talent-depleted UT team kept it tight in a game that was all about revenge. You may not have personally said that UF was gonna win by 35+ but you're fan base sure felt that way. If you can't see past all of Urby's excuses, then there's no hope. There's a reason that most outside of the state of FL realize what happened Saturday. Sadly, you are one of those who refuse to accept what happened. You think that your Gators came out did exactly what they wanted to do. Well, they didn't. They were outclassed by a FAR inferior group of players. Why is that? Well, because our guys were coached up. I'm not saying Meyer isn't a great coach...he is, but you all are absolutely pathetic. Again...you're another Gator trying to defend a win that should be thankful you came away. If we have any other QB in the SEC, we're both 2-1 right now. If you can't see that....then yes, you're a moron. Sorry...thats how it is.
Actually 4 wks from the time when the staff was in place until signing dayUnbelievable...you can't even try to carry on an intelligent convo with a Gator fan right now. I've told them how a win is a win and the scoreboard indicated that Saturday. The point is that the gap between the 2 programs has shortened considerably. NO! They have none of it.
They can't fathom that CLK is trying to win with leftovers from a staff who, lets face it, was phoning it in for some time. I'll be the 1st to admit that Kiff is a jerk. He's our jerk and we don't expect anyone else to care for him. They are convinced that he has no business coaching at any program anywhere. Nevermind the fact that he stole their #2 and #3 WR recruits, the #2 CB nationally from LSU and landed the #1 overall player in the nation in less than 3 months. They don't understand that rebuilding a team starts with bringing in your players. I thought our fan base (as a whole) was pretty ignorant to the reality of CFB...boy was I wrong.
So, if you want to share your story of trying to reason with a paranoid Gay-tor...please, go right ahead...it helps to get some frustration out.
Oh yeah.....V,B!
The fact of the matter is, UF will be playing in the national championship this year and for many more in the future. Meyer has beaten coaches like Saban, Richt, Stoops, and Tressell. How do you expect Kiffin to match up with that.
