Unbelievable...you can't even try to carry on an intelligent convo with a Gator fan right now. I've told them how a win is a win and the scoreboard indicated that Saturday. The point is that the gap between the 2 programs has shortened considerably. NO! They have none of it.

They can't fathom that CLK is trying to win with leftovers from a staff who, lets face it, was phoning it in for some time. I'll be the 1st to admit that Kiff is a jerk. He's our jerk and we don't expect anyone else to care for him. They are convinced that he has no business coaching at any program anywhere. Nevermind the fact that he stole their #2 and #3 WR recruits, the #2 CB nationally from LSU and landed the #1 overall player in the nation in less than 3 months. They don't understand that rebuilding a team starts with bringing in your players. I thought our fan base (as a whole) was pretty ignorant to the reality of CFB...boy was I wrong.

So, if you want to share your story of trying to reason with a paranoid Gay-tor...please, go right ahead...it helps to get some frustration out.

Oh yeah.....V,B!

I don't agree that Kiffin is a jerk, but you are 100% on everything else. Hard to win against #1 when the most terrifying sight in the universe is JC dropping back to pass!! :furious3:

yeah after the game in Gainesville as we were walking out of the stadium, I turned to my gator buddy and told him it sure didn't seem like they had won, he said he was thinking the same thing. it was doom and gloom around g-ville after the game...I relished it even though we still lost....until I passed out at the bar (at Swamp)!!!

He's no jerk. UF is just used to the old southern gentleman attitude we have always had. I kinda like the swagger and tude. Florida should be easily acclimated to it since the majority of the citizens are northern transplants anyway. Just sayin'

it was a strange feeling for me. usually a Vol loss will ruin even the best of Saturdays. this time, however, i felt a little spring in my step. light...at the end of the tunnel. there will be a day and sooner than our yankee friends to the south will care to admit that the Vols & Gators will be on equal playing field again. there will be hell to pay.

You're right. Last week it was we are gonna destroy Tennessee and now it is hey 5 in a row. The problem is that the Gator fans have nothing left to say. It is scary when you realize that there is a whole nation out there getting better while you bask in your recent successes. They just hope that Ole Charlie up at ND can pull off a 10 win season. If he doesn't they lose their backfield, quarterback, defense, and head coach in the same year. At that point even Vanderbilt will smell blood in the water.

i don't think it's that CLK's a jerk, only that fans of other SEC teams don't like him. everyone was pretty tame of Fulmer, because well he never consistantly beat the better teams in the league after the mid/late 90's and always talked such a mild game. i for one am glad to hear a little fire coming out of our football program. it gets our enemies all riled up, and i belive the recruits and W's will follow.

I guess jerk was little harsh. What I meant by jerk was the guy that diddled your girlfriend, the homecoming queen and the hottest mom in school...and you still couldn't dislike him. He's got that F-you bravado. I like it...but I can understand why gators don't.

With that, I've got to go pick my class up from the lunch room...there's gonna be some serious educating going on today boys!!! Go Vols!

Who could've thought that God would smite the almighty Gators with Tebow at the helm?

Being surrounded by Gators, it's hard not to notice their behavior. I would call it shell shock. Yes, they won. But not ONE of them has approached me. In fact, I have mounted several search and destroys to yank some chains...

Gator at work used the "you guys weren't trying to win the game, you ran on 3 and 23" argument with me, I fired back, "have you seen our QB play, we tried to throw it down the field and you intercepted?" He threw out some other excuses and I retorted with, "you guys won the game, why are you defending it?"

Haven't heard a peep out of him again.

anyone that has seen Crompton play this year or last would know we were trying to win the game. The Gators don't have that excuse with their offense.

I lived in florida for a few years and can tell you this. The transplants do not follow college fb unless they are from Ohio or other midwest state, in which case they stick with the team they grew up with. Florida fans for the most part are of the interior cracker variety Floridian. These are some of the dumbest rednecks I have ever been around. If you go anywhere else in the smalltown (true) south, most people are friendly and engaging. These folks on the other hand are generally rude, obnoxious and seem to enjoy being overall jerks(hence the notorious swamp urine bomb). Not all but enough to make dealing with them a pain in the tail. This my experience from my work which entailed travelling all over the state to different job sites.

best friend here at law school was a gator alum and I am a UT alum, we hang out and watch all the SEC games every saturday but this one was a little different....scared S***less would definately describe the way hes been defending everything about Florida the last two days...he knows the beatdowns are coming in the future....and the whining of Meyer "oh they wernt playing to win, boo hoo, our team was sick boo hoo, tebow was distracted by his boyfriend in the stands"....or whatever new excuse he wants to pull out after not backing up his teams talk about putting 70 up on us.....Florida seems like its been punched right in the mouth and is backpeddling looking for what to do next because they were definately exposed this weekend.
