with rodgers out for good, more and jones out indefinatley, and now the loss of McNeil, only having 2 legit (and thats stretching it) QBs, my expectations have also gone from 8-4 to, if we are lucky enough not to sustain any more injuries, 7-5. thats if we are lucky. if our depth takes any more hits at some key positions, 6-6 or god forbid 5-7 isnt too much of a long shot...

okay, 5-7 is pushing it, but last year we were looking good pre-season and we went 5-7. also, i dont want to sit through a 6-6 season and hope that we are invited to a bowl.

I have high hopes for this season but in reality they are just hopes.

If you look at the roster and depth chart. We are 7-5 , 6-6, even 5-7.

If we played them all today with the roster we have right now. I just can't see us beating FL, Bama, Ol'Miss, UGA, South Carolina, Kentucky on the road. I know we will win at least one of those games. But we could just as easily drop one to Ohio, Vandy, Auburn.

This is going to take some time. I hope for the best. But you have to look at what we have right now. Injuries would kill us and it seems like that is what is happening. Jones injury is big.

Relative to a deer caught in headlights, he's the Fonz.

Relative to this guy, you're Johnny Cochrane.

I've been at 7-5 + bowl W since the Spring and am sticking with it. I'd be happy with that record and thrilled if I also saw increased intensity in all games, more disciplined play and few unforced errors, better special teams and evidence of improved game day coaching on boath sides of the ball.

Anything greater then 7 wins is pure gravy and I love me some lots o' gravy.

If it wasn't for the quarterback position, I would still be hoping for 10 - 2. I will admit that is a stretch, even with the Kiff.

Don't know what the wins will be . I will predict the new coaching staff won't let them laydown for anybody. I can't fathom this team won't be competitive after all the comments from players and recruits about the increased intensity and passion of the players and coaching staff. Go Vols!

At what point does this years record effect recruiting in a negative way? 8-4, 7-5, 6-6.......

CLK nees at least 8 wins after the bowl game, or it will start to hurt recruiting.

Thus, UT really needs to go 7-5 at the worst and win its bowl game to keep long term program momentum.

6-6 season will likely mean losses at home and one ugly loss. I think recruiting momentum would take a big hit in that case.

I agree but add that it also depends on how you lose or compete. If this team proves to be fiesty and keeps most losses close and demonstrates good coaching then 5 losses won't be an issue. I think they need to show a bounce back and at a minimum flip last year's record.

Offensive line and Wr are the positions i am worried about the most.I think Jarrod Askew and Greg King will surprise some people and earn alot of playing time as the year goes on at linebacker.Go Vols!!!!!!!!!

God why would we expect to lose to anybody! I sincerely feel we have enough good players to win ten if we get the breaks it could happen. But 6-6 or 5-7 thats just not how we roll! Gor root for Vandy or USC jr. if thats good enough for you. National Chasmpionship NOW NOTHING LESS !!!

Might want to slow down when typing, but keep up the intensity!:clapping:
