It is a new insurance website

Health Quote

The website is purely for gathering information from potential clients. If you see any flaws let me know. I just updated it yesterday and I am looking for anything wrong with it.

Also, if you fill out the forms someone will contact you. So unless you want that just look at the page if you don't mind and let me know what you think...Thanks in advance

that is one thing that I thought...my boss liked the idea of it only being to get the quoting information and nothing more, less buttons and less navigation...not sure how that is going to work though

on a side note I made this entire website myself from scratch and I am proud of that

My suggestion would be to atleast have a homepage where you can introduce your company and tell why they should get a quote from you and not all the other websites out there. The site is good but the lack of a homepage makes the page look a bit unprofessional but the rest looks fine.

I like how you automatically assume the primary is male and a tobacco user. :)

LOL!!! glad you noticed that...I wasn't sure about the sex of the primary, but most are males.

I figured if tobacco user was checked that would attract more attention to that because that is HAVE to know info. I hate it if someone says "no" they aren't a tobacco user and I find out later that they are...cause that makes a HUGE difference in things

aside from a homepage another thing I was thinking about putting on this site is a rating system. So that you can rate products, customer service, and things like that also giving public feedback where you can see what people have to say

I noticed as well that the person filling it out is asked their gender, and then 4 or so spots later is asked the gender of their spouse.

Therefore, this thread should be in the politics forum.

Do you have your p and c certification too or are you strictly life and health?

Your auto link looked good, just might want to add more spaces for children/other household members as drivers. I only saw one for the first driver and one for the spouse. Also, youd' have to add a space for SS #'s.

The home quote link had no space for square footage. Thats one of the most important parts to have when obtaining a quote from my company. I'd have to know, because of the MSB's.

with all this personal information, I'm guessing people would be a little leery of adding it all without a secure url. I know I would. especially if you incorporate the SS# field. that is one of the first things I look for when providing personal info.

it's boring. There's nothing there that would convince me to fill it out.

Also, without putting any info about your company I would never send that kind of info over the web.

You need some info about how you will not solicit them over phone/email without their consent. & you need a note that you will not sell any of their info, either.

Also, you should put some thought into "selling" a quote. ie, somehow pitching a quote as a great idea

Complete, 100% deal-breaker. Site has to be secure before most educated people put that info in

I am designing the homepage now...What are a few things that you guys/girls think I should put on the home page?

I plan on putting some stuff about my company, but I don't want for that to be it. I do want it to be somewhat brief though.

Thought about a flash intro but I decided against that.

Not trying to be rude or a prick here. Sounds like you wanted some real opinions.

If you want more help, pointers, comments, I'd be glad to share some thoughts. To be brief, the website has no clear direction or purpose. It's some forms thrown together on what looks like a terribly generic template. It works I'm assuming, and looks ok, but this is a professional website. You aren't going to meet your client in a t-shirt and jeans, most likely. It's an image.

Again, not trying to be rude, but dropping a few hundred dollars on a website layout is probably the quickest and easiest route. And probably the best for your company. This site is like someone standing in a mall, dressed in everyday clothes, with a clipboard asking for information. You're far better off having a corporate storefront with offices as your image, instead.

You need purpose. Catch a user and provide a reason to fill out the information. Present a professional image and a clear intent of the company. Provide easy navigation to well presented forms. Have a flow of information between the user and the company.

This is excellent advice. I'm in insurance agents' offices all the time and I'm constantly amazed how weak their web presence is. My experience has been that the more information, the better. Online quote forms are good in theory, but nobody fills those things out inthe absence of information.
