I have a gun control question

I wonder if you'd have the stones to tell the family's of the victims of the Aldean concert, the Pulse Night Club or this church to mind their own business.

It's an easy thing to say when you've got no skin in the game.

I'm not suggesting I have an answer and as I've stated, I own guns - but many are treating this as a zero sum game where any regulation is the end of the world. Common sense approaches have to be out there yet it seems like only one side is willing to have a real conversation.

I would. I truly feel sorrow for the victims and their families and wouldn't wish that on anyone. However bad things happen to good people and we should never overreact by punishing law abiding people.

I keep hearing and seeing the buzzwords "common sense" tossed around yet never see any common sense suggestions, just more restrictions, regulations or outright bans. Nobody is talking about mental health or fixing government **** ups, both of which to me are the first "common sense" approaches. I'm ready to have a real conversation as long as we start at the root causes of violence and not just gun violence and work from there.

The Constitution’s Preamble says the federal government was established (and the Constitution was adopted) to “form a more perfect union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquillity, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity

Now just think about what you copied and pasted.

Not really, how many people were in that fish bowl? 10,000 or more and 52 were fatally wounded? Just being rational.

Fertilizer, diesel fuel and a truck would scare me much more. Ready to ban those items?

I can envision you there in Vegas hogg. 2000 rounds a minute strafing all around your feet as you non chalantly saunter across the open field... yawning.

Be that as it may, I've done just that.
How so? You know nothing about me. nothing. And the beautiful thing is that I don't have to justify anything to you Comrade. If you want to round up people with weaponry that YOU feel is unwarranted or unjustified, I suggest you move to Venezuela where the .gov does just that. And then complain like you do here about it.

You are a ****ing idiot.

Ahhhh... so YOU wouldn't be scared of the Vegas shooter's bump stock. So big and strong... my hero! :air_kiss:
I would be if I were in that moment. But I am not worried about the likelihood of that happening to me in my lifetime. Not at all. I am more worried about having my house destroyed in a hurricane.

Your hysterics are why we cannot have a reasonable conversation.

I would be more worried about a skilled marksman pouring aimed shots down on me than a man simply spraying and praying.

You were kind in not pointing out the hysterics of wildy overstating the rate of fire.

Your hysterics are why we cannot have a reasonable conversation.

That is why in person these conversations are a very rare event i.e. they aren't reasonable. Putting people on your ignore will most likely make your life better.

Now just think about what you copied and pasted.

It's the citizens social contract with the Federal government. It is our expectations from forming a Federal Government. The Articles and Amendments is how to accomplish this.

I'm not a social contract subscriber. Especially in regards to the federal government.

.

2000 rounds a minute?!? Sensationalize much? You realize that the kind of weapons you are talking about here look something like this, right:

M61 Vulcan - Wikipedia

A FULLY AUTOMATIC M4 rifle (the military rifle upon which the AR platoform is based) has a fire rate of 700-900 rounds per minute. That is the MAXIMUM rate of fire, not the SUSTAINED rate of fire.

I have an aunt that lost family to gun crime. as I have heard it from her and hers she is not for gun control. not every victim will feel the same. I bet if you offered them the chance most would wish they had a firearm to respond.

when I talked to her about her case she said the worst part was the feeling of helplessness. there was nothing she could have done as she was unarmed. she is haunted by the fact that she couldn't save her family. she feels guilty for surviving where others died.

What's the point?

Do people die from gun shots - sure, in Syria, Iraqi, Libya, Afghanistan, etc. - some people call it war.

Bombing Kills More Than 140 in Baghdad - The New York Times

a minivan packed with explosives blew up and killed at least 143 people — the third mass slaughter across three countries in less than a week.

They use bombs in Iraqi. Maybe they should put bombs on their "ban" list in Iraqi, that will probably help.

Guns generally to me are a very inefficient way of taking out large amounts of people, generally speaking.

what is funny is that there isn't the same jump between murder in America and murder in the rest of the world. guns are just the tools, the deaths would still happen.

in fact when you look at the murder rates we fall pretty far inside that outer circle and somewhere in the blob with everyone else, but nowhere near the bottom. seems like we as a people aren't as good as we want to believe. guns are just an easy thing to go after.

also based on that graphic we have fewer mass shootings per gun than the rest of the world.

again what exactly are you trying to prove here?

You're inventing an argument to a position I haven't taken. I haven't said anything regarding confiscation.

I've yet to hear a convincing reason for civilians to have access to bump stocks. Maybe you should take some time and regroup. You seem a bit frazzled, don't fly in a triggered state.

I have yet to hear a convincing argument as to why we should be barred from having access.
