With this dream staff being assembled. Assuming we start winning right out of the gate, how long do you guys think it will remain intact before other programs come and start courting the position coaches or even CLK himself? And can these all-star coaches work together without much clashing of the egos?

If we start winning, no doubt many will get offers for advancement. That's a sign of a good program.

Just enjoy. No one can keep this staff together forever. Enjoy

Agreed 100% I very much realize that its inevitable for these coaches to move on to bigger and better career opportunities. I was just wondering how long will some of these play second fiddle. If this staff goes 2-3 seasons with this line up with out many major changes, I will be surprised.

This is the same athletic department that was struggling so much to find money in these hard times when they decided to milk money from the students for tickets. Suddenly the department is rich again after a horrible season. At least my $90 went to fire Fulmer's ass. Is it all Haslam?

We may need to expect more increases to pay the salaries of this coaching staff, but if this team and staff produce the wins, people will forget all about the ticket prices. Its all about the w's baby. :good!:

Monte won't leave. Coach "O", needs the training under Monte. Reaves is related. Chaney, maybe 2-3 years. Garner won't leave for a similiar job due to pay, if in fact he comes back to UT. Kiffin is not only getting them, he is paying them very well. i think a lot will depend upon results or direction after year two.

UT is not the only school that charges students...

Plus when they were free the past few years, there wasn't always that great of a turnout from them.

IDK Brier. Seems to me these days its all about the money and moving up the coaching ladder. As mentioned in another thread, this could very well set the tone for coaching salaries at other top programs and could turn into a vicious cycle.

The NEW 15 million from the ESPN deal is in there. Paying ALOT to staff and having the coach middle of the pack helps also. UT has enough power boosters that is a change HAD to be made, which many us believe it did, they wanted the RIGHT change to be made. Make UT a place where kids know they will be able to get to the next level IF they apply themselves. That takes Asst Coaches and support staff as well as facilites.
To get the best, you have to pay the best. Kiffin shows a lot of who he is by NOT being afraid that a great Asst will go behind his back. His coaching "model" will be copied in the future.

You stated that the AD was struggling, which is why they started charging students...

Is that not correct?

Yes. And I was not revisiting the argument about charging students. I just needed a reason for why they now have seemingly unlimited resources to hire all of these coaches after they were struggling so much before our crapfest of a season. It surely wasn't ticket revenue.

I have no problems with our assistant coaches leaving because they're so highly sought after. That means we're doing good. If CLK starts building a good coaching tree, we will be able to replace talented coaches that leave with more talented coaches.

Would you prefer the alternative where no one wants our coaches?
