I hate UT fans...

Disagree. Had it been meaningless, Joyce/Gilbert are not playing

Gilbert? I'm not sure why he would sit out, but okay.
Had it been meaningful, you wouldn't see a new pitcher every inning. You wouldn't have seen the bench emptied, with starters like Evan Russell removed mid-game. You would have seen attempts to generate runs. You wouldn't have seen the teams agree to wooden bats.

It was a midweek game. It doesn't matter. Let's move on.

I am 51 years old and have been a UT fan all my life. But some of our fans truly annoy the sh*t out of me. We lost a meaningless midweek game and some of these jock sniffers who probably never played sports a day in their life are throwing tantrums. I don't normally do this, but I'm going to address some of the ridiculous crap I have seen tonight.

1. We shouldn't have played at Smokies Stadium - BS! 8K fans got to see the Vols play. Go ask the players if they enjoyed the environment. Think about the exposure UT baseball got from that game. Teams play games at neutral sites all the time. Vanderbilt recently played Lipscomp at the Sounds stadium in Nashville. It's baseball. Guess what? The rubber is still 60'6" from home plate. Home plate is still 17" wide. The base paths are still 90'.

2. We shouldn't have used wood bats - guess what? Tech played with wood bats too! And a lot of college players play in wood bat summer leagues every year. Wood bats didn't cost us the game. They impacted both teams. There was only one homerun the whole game, and it was hit off the guy who throws over 100mph.

3. We blew our #1 ranking - not likely if we take care of business this weekend. Midweek games are mostly meaningless, and baseball is a long season. Voters know that.

UT was always going to lose some games. They will likely lose more. As easy as they have been making it look, baseball is a hard game. I really wish our fans could just enjoy the incredible season this time is putting together, instead of whining about ridiculous crap. Sorry.

Rant over.
C’mon man! Can’t we just fire the coach anyway and get rid of all the players and start over again. s/

Not disappointed in our #1 Team

What most causal sports fans usually don't understand about baseball.... it's the easiest game to lose...pitching is off or serves up a middle of the plate fastball (don't care if it is 100+ mph) that gets de-yarded into the cheap seats etc.....your hitting gets impatience(which IMO is what happened last night) and starts swinging at pitches out of the strike zone etc. I would be interested to see the pitch breakdown for the kid who threw the last 5 innings for Tech. Had to be 80% or more breaking stuff (junk pitches) and that's the easiest way to beat a superior team which clearly the Vols were. I was talking to a baseball man today and we agreed...I'd rather lose on a Tuesday to a Tenn Tech type team than lose a series to Florida, Ga, Vandy etc. JMO

Now there you go destroying the narrative. Next you're gonna tell me ESPN doesn't hate us and there isn't a conspiracy to keep us down.

😂 Sorry!

Re: ESPN - SEC Network is an ESPN affiliate and their Rally Cap season debut showered praise for our baseball team… As far as keeping us down, time will tell. 🤷🏻‍♀️😊
