Bingo... CBS coverage is great for the casual fan... but for anyone into their own team above all else, it blows. Getting toyed with in the closing seconds of a close NCAA tourney game is criminal.

I will absolutely positively be buying the directv NCAA tourney package next year.

I think we are also dealing with a station that loves an upset. Almost every game I've watched if the lower seeded team is even close they slob them. I don't think it is an anti-UT thing.

Every station would do that. It's called creating a story. Tennessee beating a 15 seed by 23 isn't a story. A 15 seed keeping it close all game is a story.

My brother was part of the media at the American game and he talked to Verne and he said he loved broadcasting SEC football games and that he loves Tennessee's atmosphere so I do not think he is ani-ut.

Well, I live in central KY and I had to watch the damn W. KY game instead of my beloved Vols. Even when it went into overtime, they kept it on the Western game. I was NOT a happy camper.

Yeah same thing happened here I had to go watch it on the internet.

They used to do that, but why they don't any more is beyond me. Perhaps they are trying to force people into buying their package.

Considering they let you stream every game online for free I doubt it. Plus, the package this is a DirectTV I believe...

I tried the internet thing, but living in the sticks, I only have satellite internet, which is the equivalent of watching molasses pour in 10 degree weather.

I hate CBS because of the massive amounts of commercial breaks they take...most add 20 minutes to the games.

that too would happen on any station. CBS isn't in the business of showing you the tournament, they are in the business of selling commercial time that people will sit and watch.

I just know for football games CBS always has more commercials than ESPN, ABC, or JP sports. I got a headache watching the Xavier v. Marquette game because of all the commercial breaks they took in the last 2 minutes of game time.

It was never in HD here. On the HD channels yes, but a low-def feed. (When it was on at all)

Ugh, was that not the WORST HD you have ever seen?
I thought my wife had it on Standard Def and asked her to change it.
Once I saw the Standard I was SUPER amazed.
Unreal.
But I did hate them switching over like that.
Like the previous poster said, picture in picture would have worked better.

I've lived in NC for the past few years and its hard to watch games period. Especially during basketball season. With so many teams in NC its hard to watch a game.

And the best solution during March Madness is to go to a bar with the package and ask to have the UT game on a TV not on the local CBS but the Vol game on the package. Even if the local one switches then they will still stay on the Tennessee game.
