I had a Dream...and what one man thinks will happen if Gators get up BIG

I was watching their kickoffs against Troy and they really load up the side they're kicking it to. Seems to just beg for a reverse on the return with a speed guy. I'm not a coach but what do we have to lose?

To think that we showed CS or Troy (or the Country for that matter) anything in our first 2 games is laughable. Remember and history shows.....Urban prepares for games better than anyone and he always has many, many things up his sleeve!

All in fun guys/gals and let's just hope for a good, clean (other than the rain) game especially since I will be down there. This series hopefully will be recreated with energy that has been lost over the last several years. I hate Lane (probably as much as Vol fans hate Urban) but he (Lane) has caused a stir!

Go Gator's

'07 - Auburn game. Having his hand on the Ref's shoulder to signal timeout just as AU kicks the field goal. Although, that did not work for him as originally planned.

Not sure if I would call that classless, nothing at the time against the rules at all and there are plenty of coaches that do that. With that being said, I think the guy is as classless as they come as far as college head coaches go.

I'm sorry my point was lost on you but I'm going on what I saw them do. To think the Corch changes his complete kickoff package in a week is a bit silly though.

But you would take him as your Coach and not blink twice! He is a winner, bottom line and as a Gator he is as cocky as they come (and I don't always like the remarks) however, he backs it up!

Amongst other things, Meyer talked to Trattou about how the 3-4 defense was not a good fit for him and his football future (read: NFL, which is garbage because the Cowboys, Patriots, and Chargers all use the 3-4), while former Gators assistant coach Greg Mattison's favorite topics about Notre Dame (with several recruits) despite his previous love for the school was how the weather sucked and the players' social life suffered.

Case in point No. 2, Omar Hunter, was the same deal. Omar was snookered into to lying to everyone from Notre Dame coaches, players, and likely even his parents that he was not talking to other schools. His father wanted him at Notre Dame due to the academics.

In the end, Hunter was a fraud himself, but he was not the one who was truly taken for a ride. Coach Mattison recruited Hunter. He had an ax to grind with Notre Dame after leaving South Bend on not so good of terms, and he definitely took it to another level with Hunter.

Mattison, you see, had an assistant coaching job lined up with the Baltimore Ravens long before this past National Signing Day came around. So when Hunter switched his commitment to UF after initially deciding to attend Notre Dame, Mattison and Meyer did what came naturally.

They lied to Hunter about the entire situation, telling Hunter that Mattison was not leaving Gainesville. Just by complete and total coincidence, Mattison ended up taking a job with the Ravens right after National Signing Day. Shocking!

CUM lies.

I had a dream in 97 that Manning beat UF and then I woke up at halftime and the score was 35-0 :eek:lol::eek:lol:

What comes around goes around. If Meyer tries to run the score it will come back to haunt him one day. There is nothing wrong with trying to score with the 2nd team but calling timeouts with Tebow in the game is classless.
Agree COMEPLETELY. Mr. Congeniality, who, being the sensitive flower that he is, somehow, has built quite a list of coaches who would like nothing more than to throotle his arse. The niave belief that his time while never come is amazing. I suppose, more than anything about this entire "Kiffen-gate" that blows me away, is how he Kiff is not the first that CUM has thrown a tantrum about and he won't be the last. I mean, they act like Kiff smitted Jesus and this guy is the biggest and most consistant example of a college football coaching A-hole that I've ever had to see on a national stage....it's contagious too. The apple seems to be falling closer to the tree the longer he is there. Any student of SEC football knows that his is coming and there isn't a coach out there that will show quarter. Remeber how fun it was to see the a-hole fiance of the chick in the "Wedding Crashers" finally get HIS???

If Meyer leaves Tebow in the game up by alot, Tebow will get hurt. Write it down.
Not just on Saturday.

Hmmmmm ....Fans of teams with Lane Kiffin as coach calling other teams and their coaches classless....Hmmmm...

The hypocracy of Florida fans is hilarious. It was all fine when Spurrier was making jabs at everybod else. But, now, when another coach takes a few jabs at them it is somehow "classless."

As my Dad taught me on more than one occasion growing up, "if you are goijng to dish it out, you better be willing to take it." Florida fans are a bunch of _____ (insert your own description) in this regard.

Two problems.

First, Spurrier didn't falsely, and proudly, call another coach a cheater.

Second, Spurrier was very successful. Remains to be seen with CLK.

not another "I had a dream thread". I remember someone had one of these last year before the UF game. The game was a nightmare.

Eh, I don't believe in stuff like that. I mean the Pats left Brady in and ran it up two years ago and nothing bad happened to their team or to Brady.

Personally I think it will end up like last season. Florida will get up comfortably, take their foot off the gas and coast to victory.

And then Crompton will make another idiotic post game statement where he says "We should have won that game."

You know he will be successfull. You know it was a good move on MANY different levels, regardless of the outcome on Sat. You know Surrier said Lots of stuff like that that didn't get blown up by ESPN.. Law, you are a smart dude. Let down the facade and admit that if the tables were turned, you'd be able to list 5 other great reasons why it was brilliant.

You're going off a dream? Meyer's first year we played at Alabama and I had a dream of CBS going to break and Verne saying "This one is getting out of hand, Gators up big." Final score was Alabama 31 Florida 3. Didn't really work out.

He threatens to pull commits scholarships if they take visits to other schools. That's pretty classy. You can spin that however you want. He only wants players who are fully committed. Sure.... from my perspective he is threatening 17 year old kids and isn't looking out for their best interest. He's looking out for his. You have to live with the decision of your college choice for a minimum of 4 years. Not only that but it impacts the rest of your life following. Did you choose the right coaching staff to get you to the NFL? Did you choose the right school for academics if you don't go pro? Are you even going to get playing time and be able to show case yourself on the field? And the list goes on. Meyer threatens these kids though. Nice!

If a scholarship was offered and a player committed, then went fishing again, I'd yank it in a heartbeat. I wouldn't care in the least what someone in Tennessee thought about it. I'd say, "You like Kiffin? Go play for him then.". While your overgrown frat boy of a coach is jumping up and down, "We stole your recruit", I'd be quietly going about the business of collecting players who WANT to be Gators.

Probably 99 percent of what is said to recruits, you don't know. You don't know when it was said, how it was said, or why it was said. Most of the time, a recruit has his offer pulled, and you won't know that. That's because honorable coaches don't discuss such things. So, you'll only hear it when the recruit says something, and more often than not, they're too embarrassed. So go ahead and "steal" them if you want.

There's plenty of Meyer coached players in the NFL, but I sure hope that Kiffin keeps using that line for the next 2 or three years before he's sacked. It's very, very, easy to refute. Not on a Vol message board though. That's like leading a horse to water who's not thirsty.

The University of Florida is known as a Public Ivy. Where's UT on that list? Someone must have hacked that site, because it's missing! A commit to Florida can choose any line of study that he can handle, from a coast-your-way-through-school degree in leisure service management, like your coach, or any number of more difficult fields, and know that he has a strong educational background, if he doesn't play after college.

As for playing time, that's easy. If you truly think that you're the best, if you're confident and a hard worker, then there's no doubt in a Champion's mind, that you'll get playing time. Sorry, but I wouldn't want anyone who thought that they weren't good enough, wouldn't work hard enough, didn't want to put in the blood and sweat, or was not confident enough to be a starter.

You can call it "threatening 17 year old kids" if you want, and you know, that's 100 percent fine with me. You take their poor, threatened souls, and put them on your team. If they crack under the pressure of honoring their commitment to playing for the NCAA Champions, then you're most certainly going to see what they're made of when they face the NCAA Champions.

It's a difference in philosophy- the difference that makes champions into Champions, and run-of-the-mill NFL flunkies into NCAA flunkies.

So enjoy your kind and gentle coaching staff, your honorable, wonderful, heart-touching head coach, and your 5 win seasons, with second-rate players who are afraid of the competition. All three come and go all of the time.

P.S. We'll be sending more recruits your way to "steal" over the next few years. Enjoy! Unfortunately, they don't come with instruction manuals. Sorry. You'll have to hire someone who knows how to use them, hopefully, not someone who was canned for being incompetent at his last job.
