I guess we own Mike Hamilton one apology

Unless Cuonzo wins a national title, I don't think I could ever forgive Mike Hamilton after choosing Derek Dooley over Kevin Sumlin.

And I like basketball more than football.

And in MH case He screwed up several sports. Football with 2 bad head coaches, Baseball with his friend hired for head coach.

Like coaches, I think Athletic Directors get too much credit when things go well and too much blame when things go south, especially when hiring those potential "up and comers" like CCM.

So while I don't feel Hammy is owed an apology, I will say this decision turned out to be a good one.

Lane Kiffin over Brian Kelly

(presuming, of course, that Kelly would have left Cincy for us)

Who was the AD when the track teams were combined, with the women's coach taking over everything, and the men's program being wrecked to the point that it ceases to be a recruiting selling point for football speedsters?

Apologies in advance if I don't have all of the facts quite right, as I read most of that in blogs from local media members.

What is the deal with mostly Men's track? The women have had some recent success but the Men's not so much. I mean that used to be a source of great pride for TN but now its like an after thought.

Any success the Vols have had since his departure has been more in spite of Hamilton than because of him.

That's right! He nearly killed UT! We don't owe him anything! He was as inept as anyone in any job I can recall! BTW, I do like what I see when Hart is giving Zo hugs as he comes off the court after each victory! Maybe I just missed it, but I never saw that out of Hamilton!

The presses need to stop if Hamilton made a good hire that worked out! I was waiting for him to fire Pat Summitt! He was THAT bad.

Or canning Fulmer mid season. Or basically firing Bruce Pearl over the radio as the Vols were going to play Michigan.

I won't say anything on the Fulmer thing.

I agree with your second example.

He was the most inept AD we've ever had. Everything he touched pretty much turned to sh*t. He is where he needs to be. Out of athletics.

Yeah, We OWN, and "He might have GOT" Whew, what are they teaching in schools these days?
Sorry, back to hibernation.

I made a mistake and corrected it in the title of my first post. I've been up all night and just hit the wrong key. I know the difference between owe and own. Instead of "He might have got" maybe I should have said "He may have hired, employed, discovered, secured, found, captured, collected, enticed, compelled, snagged, enthralled, netted, etc. Furthermore, who died and made you grammar police of the VN message board :peace2:
