Apparently the R candidate was some perpetual loser who has already lost 2 or 3 statewide elections in Illinois. Supposedly he had a boatload of money left in the warchest from his prior defeats which helped him secure the nomination, but that was as far as it took him. I did read that Obama was actively involved in the race.

Either way, I doubt many people on the hill are going to be able to understand this guy?

I think that there is a place for his ilk...especially since he has probably started more than just one business. I think the Hill would be well served to have a few more scientists and engineers who have a business or legal sense as well.

Oh I agree... More Engineers are always needed :)

I just think those two groups would be talking in foreign langauges to each other. Spin vs. common sense.

Yeah....at times...but folks like Bart Gordon on the House Science committee try pretty hard to get it right.
