I wouldn't be surprised if the Coca-Cola 600 gets better ratings than the Indy 500 and once Indy is over no one cares about open wheel for another year. But....you think the top two owners in cup couldn't figure out open wheel. No, thank you for the laugh. I guess they're smart enough not to waste money on a series that is relevant only once a year.
Rick Hendrick doesn't come anywhere close to Roger Penske as far as being businessmen. Success in NASCAR or Indy Cars is no measure for business acumen. Penske sits on more Board of Directors than Hendrick has dealerships.
BTW I follow the IRL quite closely, and the racing is usually more entertaining than NASCAR as far as close finishes. NASCAR is more competitive overall.
I'll ask you the same thing I ask doozer, what does their business venture have to do with the success they have on the track? That was the point I was making, I'm not disputing that Penske has a larger bank account than Rick Hendrick. Magic Johnson is probably a better businessman than Michael Jordan but we know who was better on the court. I'm saying that Hendrick, despite having less money, is more dominant in Nascar. As far as open wheel, ratings don't lie, Nascar is doing much better and has been for some time.
Apparently you hate it when people treat you the same way you treat everyone else on here.
no, i hate it when people say stupid things like Rousch and Hendrick would own Penske in open wheel cars.
yeah, the money has nothing to do with it. it's all about people who care and competition. forget the paycheck.
Television has something to do with it. I'm sure Hendrick is perfectly more content being a champion owner in the Nascar Series than being an owner of a team that has a majority of its events on VERSUS.
The casual sports fan can name no more than probably 3 IRL drivers. They can name a whole lot more stock car drivers.
That was my point.
also, worth mentioning that throughout the world, the majority of drivers wind up in open wheel racing. Why aren't all the South Americans and Europeans going the NASCAR route?
because the real money is in F1. NASCAR and IRL pay in peanuts compared to F1.
but what if Tony Eury Jr really was the problem?
what if Rick Hendrick actually knows what he is doing?
what if Dale Jr turns his season around?
what if all you anti-Jr experts are wrong?
will there be anything to talk about if you are all wrong?
will Doozer still find a way to blame Jr?
