I coach youth sports and I get to go and listen to Pearl and Fulmer speak today about character and other things. I'm really excited to hear Pearl. I bet he will be awesome.

I heard Fulmer wasn't much of a speaker. Pearl on the other hand, from what I've heard is really, really good.

I think it depends what day you hear Fulmer. I've heard him when he was entertaining and I've heard him when I thought he needed a shot of adrenaline ASAP.

He will always be an offensive lineman.

This has been my experience as well. It also depends on the audience. Fulmer has become very particular of what he says and to whom he says it while in public. Most coaches at major programs learn this at some point. Call it coaching maturity.

Well, how did it go? Don't leave us hanging.

It was awesome! Pat was supposed to be there to but she was in New York receiving some kind of award. Fulmer was the first speaker and he was really entertaining. He touched on being honest with the kids and said the football team trust him and he trust them. His was about 15 minutes long. Bruce was just as great as I thought he would be. His speech lasted 20-25 minutes. The real cool part was we got to thompson boling around 6 and watched an hour of the men practice. It was nice to see how great they get along with each other. I think the highlight of his speech was he screamed, " I would do anything for my players." Some people teared up around me. He said players don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care! And said he loved everyone of them and they are all family. Overall I was thrilled. It was very inspirational and the best part, it was free! Hopefully I can take some of what was said and apply it to my coaching. Go Vols!
