Somebody want to start a poll on which SEC team he is coaching in two years?BUT
Tony is the first coach EVER to go straight from college to managing an MLB team. The more I think about it, the more I realize that it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I hope that he crushes it with the Giants
OR
He fails at the same time our program needs a new coach.
....and the more anyone with a mind realizes our sorry AD didn't try to keep him. No communication hardly at all. He effectively was telling him I don't want you.BUT

Both can be true.....and the more anyone with a mind realizes our sorry AD didn't try to keep him. No communication hardly at all. He effectively was telling him I don't want you.
Every single time I watched him at the MLB draft or do anything related to the MLB network, it always stood out to me how comfortable he was around those people and how genuinely excited he seemed to be when talking or breaking down MLB.I don’t think Tony is a go backwards type of guy. I think he would go to a front office MLB position. The landscape of college baseball may not be the same in a few years.
I figure he will come back to (if there is no opening @ Vols), if available Arkansas then Missouri then LSU and then Alabama. Basically be what teams are in need of a HC. It will surprise me if he is successful in MLB unless they give him 5 years+ to get his system and I'm not sure how veteran players will adapt. They’ve had trouble landing the big free agents. However, I see that changing this offseason. The Giants have finished no better than .500 in each of the last four seasons. They did not make the postseason during that time. Based upon what I have read, their current talent level and farm system appear to be average. Assuming no significant talent upgrades, what is a fair expectation for the Giant’s record in 2026?
2020: 29-31 (COVID shortened season)
2021: 107-55 (1st place NL West)
2022: 81-81
2023: 79-83
2024: 78-84
2025: 81-81
These folks don't want to hear disparaging things about DW, especially from reliable sources. I've heard some things about him too. I do know this...he didn't do much to keep Tony V. If he does pick elander, it will be because he is pressured to.Both can be true.
I'm definitely not a Danny apologist. I'm no insider by any means but have heard some pretty disparaging things about Danny from a reliable source recently.
However, if elander is promoted, I will view things much differently. Right now, I don't think Danny did anything to keep him, but I can acknowledge at the same time Tony just made history. Once again, I will 100% turn on Danny if elander isn't promoted.
