I played fullback. If the play was called as "I right 24". I was the 2 back getting the ball and going up the 4 hole. If it was "I right 34", I would lead block up the 4 hole for the 3 back and so on.Ok, playing fullback takes a lot of practice. You can't just take a player and put him there with a few practice reps. Well you can if you just run one play, but that won't provide much benefit. By the same token your not going to put in a full I package in a few practice sessions. I would expect to see what we used in the bowl game since most teams of the players ran it before. A surprise for SC then every D has to prep for it.
It will be the power I formation..SC cannot stop the run..they give up over 200 yards a game..Georgia ran all over them and we will too..WE will run the Power I , the PISTOL , and the POWER T formation..Dobbs will throw less than 20 times...WE will roll all over their assses......GBO
Actually, wasn't Watson the tailback in the I? Great power runner though. Still remember him crushing Georgia at their place with 200(?) rushing yards.
Listed as a fullback, but fullbacks used to get lots of carries. He was a runner more than a lead blocker.
I just watched the highlights of the game against georgia where he had 200 yards...he got about the same number of carries as the TB...basically, he went between the tackles just about every play - sometimes with the ball and sometimes as a decoy/blocker...
