:yes:

listening to Lundquist praise Urban Meyer on one of Timmy's dives up the middle makes me sick.

Meyer is the one who devised the offense in that manner. Is it wrong to praise him when it works?

Think of how many coaches get down inside the five yard line and start doing stupid crap (usually going into a 3 tight end set and handing the ball off for two downs, then trying a fade on 3rd down before trying the field goal). Meyer is a legitimately brilliant offensive mind, and is one of two that I can think of from the last 20 years (Bill Walsh being the other).

You play the cover 2 and demolish WRs trying to catch those crossing routes.

The two deep safety look discourages the deep throws and then the LBs take care of their spots. It's not that hard to do.
It's all execution and not overthinking.

Groves was a DE converted to OLB before the UF game. He nearly blew the whole offense of UF up by himself.

I like the cover 2 with man under. The 2 safeties in a 2 deep zone and the cornerback's playing man.

I like it from a 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 base defense. When the team is a 3 or 4 WR set, you have 3 DB man on man with the 3 WR instead of asking the OLB to cover man on a WR.

One thing that I haven't heard anybody bring up is what would Florida have done if they had made the SECCG last weekend? Judging by the size of the cast on Tebow's non-throwing hand, he wouldn't have been running the ball at all.

I don't think what Florida ran this year is the offense Meyer will run in the future.

Ideally I think Meyer wants a formation with 4 WR, 1 RB, and 1 QB to run the triple option with a WR in motion. The QB ran the ball a lot more then Meyer's offense normally would IMO. Normally a RB would see as many carries as the QB.

I just don't Meyer has the RB he wants to use in that offense yet. When he does it will be even more dangerous.

No but it's nothing new. He runs a modified wing T. Harvin is the wing, Tebow is a FB/QB in one and they haven't found a TB that fits his scheme yet.

Throw in some play action passes and you have his offense.

What really pisses me off is when the FB goes in motion and becomes the lead blocker on one of Tebow's 4 yard runs up the gut. It's a damn dive play. It's not hard to scheme against and one, only one, defense has stopped it (Auburn).

That sounds like Spurrier.

I voted for something new. I dont know that it needs to be the spread offense. It does need to be something new though. Our offense has becomce very predictable.

a hard hitting front seven can seriously change the outlook of a spread offense.

Strength on the line, Speed at OLB, run it down their throats.

I wonder how michigan will fare, though..?

App --> spread (shootin for three this friday night, and i'll be there)

Illini --> spread

Florida --> $hit

Whatever works best for the team running it.

Exactly. Goes back to June Jones saying Tebow's a system QB (hilarious by the way)..

Every system is going to work to the strengths of their QB/personnel in general.. or at least they SHOULD.
