When I first heard the news I was sick, I thought why now? After all we have been through as fans, as a team, as a "family"(a very dysfunctional one, but a family nonetheless). I have not commented on this at all, I wanted to find out the FACTS, not get what most on here say is their "inside source". Then I realized that we had 3 of our young football players commit a crime of stupidity and selfishness. Man the phone calls and text messages I got from friends, but I still held my ground and told them although I will never understand or forget what they brought to our team, I do forgive them 110%.

Do I think they should join the team this week? NO! Do I think they should join the team this year? NO! But I do think these young men deserve a 2cd chance, we have all made mistakes, what was going through their head we will never know! I think these young men should be allowed to attend UT and take the embarrassment, I think they should have to do outreach programs for troubled youth, community service on the side of the road cleaning trash, hold very high academic standards, 9pm curfew weekdays and weekends.........As far as the team goes, Edwards and Nuke should be suspended indefinitely even if its 2 years. We do not know whats going on with Jackson, so I think he must do the same but suspension only till bowl season (granted we make it), or until next spring, where he will once again have to earn his spot.

I am not trying to be Mother Theresa here, but I know that these kids now know what they did was wrong. I am a sucker for 2cd chances, hell I got many maybe not so bad but still.........God has forgiven me, and I forgive them..........GO VOLS!

that would be great but its hard to get a second chance on campus when you are going to only be playing prison ball like the longest yard!

easy for you the gun was not pointed at your head. Second I am a believer of second chances but their second chance will not be at ut at the least for nuke and ed

I accept their apologies and will forgive them. That doesn't change the fact they need to be punished, which may included dismissal from the team.

I really agree with this.I think if they can GIVE BACK and do the Unthinkable..then they should be given a second chance.Maybe not at UT..but its real hard because they are young and still have so much time to turn things around.

Nuke and Edwards do deserve a second chance, somewhere else. I really feel bad for them. Hopefully they learn heavily from this whole experience.

Luckily for them the only real forgiveness they need is from God who can and will forgive.

I am sad and dissapointed about what happened but I pray that all 3 get a second chance to turn their lives around for the better.

This type of mishap happens to all walks of life. It is what we choose for ourselves that dictates our path in life. I can't get past what they did. Absolute stupidity...a lifetime chance and thrown away for $0.00...They will play prison ball and wont get another chance although we were ignorant enough to give Vick another chance...I don't care how good you are...you screw up, you pay and for life. Vick should have been drowned himself. Nukeese went on and on about not playing enough...he acts like an a** to Kiffin...it was a lose lose situation for TN or FL or whoever ended up with Nukeese. He'll never change. :furious3:

Don't think football needs to be in their future. No university needs to be represented by people like them.

Let them see what it is like to have to work for a living.

Getting busted for underage drinking is a mistake. Getting your girl knocked up is a mistake. Attemped armed robbery is not a mistake. Anyone capable of this type of behavior does not deserve the privrelage of playing another down for the University of Tennessee.

One more thing...put yourself in the car with a weapon in your face...ok, now respond

I have NO PITY...they have cheated themselves and the team and UT...as another memeber said...this is not a mistake...it was their intention to cause possible harm in getting what they wanted...this isn't sad anymore...STUPID

DON'T FEEL BAD.....GET MAD

While what they did was stupid... really stupid you have to think back to when we all were their ages. I know I did some pretty stupid stuff. I was inches from ending up on the short end of the stick. If a few things would have went a different way I could have ended up in some really bad situations. I forgive them but before they play ball anywhere else they need to show the world that they have learned from their mistakes.

Tons of people out here every day could have ended up in jail, homeless or even worse if things had went a little different.

Would we be so quick to forgive or make excuses for them if they were just another person who just performed an armed robbery? Nope. We make excuses, say we forgive, and try to find a loophole for them because they are UT football players.

If you commit a crime, do the time. Second chances come after that.

It is actually attempted aggravated robbery, because they actually never got a cent. Had that gotten even a penny that would then be aggravated robbery which the two have a different class of felony. This may ( and I only said MAY) allow them to go for pre trial diversion and for that reason also of the class of felony, allow them to have probation as far as the law goes. Now as for their time with the team. That is a UT and CLK decision.

As for me, I am just praying that they all get their stuff straight and know that they have a long life ahead of them and will make better choices for the rest of it. The main thing is this and not should. if. or will they play at UT.

Please pray for these young men

Everyone looks bad with this situation, mistakes are mistakes, trying to act out the Thug life with a pellet pistol is just stupidity. It wasn't too long ago that Marsalous Johnson I think it was had a similar stupid experience. Just as we started gaining respect around the country this pops up and all of CLK's hard work is now overshadowed. He has to save face, whoever was directly involved has to go.

Forgiveness from me is unimportant. They haven't done anything to me except make the team I follow be the butt of a few jokes on rival message boards. I can live with that. Forgiveness is between them, their victims, their coaches, and their team mates, all of whom they wronged though in different ways.

What is important is that they turn their lives around. Yes, everyone makes stupid mistakes but not everyone tries to rob someone. That is crossing a big line in terms of society. There has to be consequences. The law and the school authorities will determine what those will be. Hopefully they will learn something along the way.

Coach Kiffin also has another consideration--the good of the team in terms of discipline and doing what he can do to keep other kids who might wind up doing something similar from doing such. I don't see anyway around dismissing Edwards and Richardson, and very little room for Jackson, though I'm willing to hear what he has to say before saying he has to go. But even if Jackson stays he still needs to pay in terms of suspension and other things as well to help him see what a huge deal this is. He needs to earn his way back. IF he had nothing to do with the robbery aspect of things then I'm willing to give him that chance and endure the howls of our rival fans and the media.

One thing is certain--what any of these guys might be able to do for Tennessee in terms of the football field is the very last thing that needs to be in anybody that matters mind. Please don't let them down, coach.

I'm really very very tired of people rushing to judgements and dishing out punishments without the facts or expertise to do that. I'm reminded of CLK's handling of Crompton amidst the howls of "crucify him (religious please note the non capitalized h) crucify him." What a story and what would it say about CLK and the program and school if we didn't do the easy thing and just bounce them out, but turned these kids around to be productive not destructive young men who go on to live very good lives as citizens? I'm sick of quitters who cut and run at the first sign of trouble from kids. If your kid did wrong, would you want the death penalty enacted for a non capitol crime? I'm pulling for all 3 of these kids to get it together at UT and have their degrees at the end of their football careers there.

One thing about life is learning from mistakes. Huge mistakes often lead to life changing results. This is a monumental mistake. It will change their lives forever. My forgiveness does not matter. Forgiveness need to come from the coaches, their teammates, and most importantly their families, who have been let down the most. I dont have the right to be judge and jury so i will keep my opinions to myself on their future with UT. My hope is this, I hope they learn and make more responsible decisions in the future. More than likely this will cost them their futures, not to mention a college education. UT football will go on. This is not the first player problem that has happened here nor will it be the last. We are not the only team that these things happen to either. Life is full of mistakes, hopefully they will learn a valuable lesson.

They deserve NOTHING but prison time...I do not feel any sympathy for thieves...I hope they never have the priviledge of getting a FREE education and playing football again....Screw em!
